There has been a lot of buzz surrounding Overwatch 2 recently due to the fact that the original story mode plans for the game have been canceled. Although this is the case, Overwatch 2 still has a pretty large player base and Blizzard plans to continue supporting the game for a long time. Looking ahead, Overwatch 2 players have a lot to look forward to, including a new Support hero. Blizzard has recently revealed the current roadmap for Overwatch 2, from Season 5 up to Season 7. Taking a look at the roadmap, one of the biggest revelations is that players will get another new support hero coming in season 6. But what do we know about this next Support hero for Overwatch 2? Some new information and a new image of our Season 6 hero, as revealed by Blizzard in a new blog post:
"I can't say too much about the new hero - we'll do a full reveal later before Overwatch 2: Invasion launches - but I'm not above teasing a bit. Earlier in June we gave players a quick glimpse of her silhouette, and the internet immediately went to work enhancing the video to give her more definition. Someone even created a concept piece for her! We knew people would do this, and we were surprised with how many of the details they got right about her look. I’d like to recognize this detective work by revealing an image that is an integral part of this hero’s backstory. Enjoy!
According to Overwatch 2 players, they have possibly uncovered the name of the upcoming Support Hero for Season 6. A keen-eyed Reddit user noticed a small detail during the recent Overwatch 2 live stream on the game's subreddit.
The user shared a screenshot of the stream from June 21, 2023, highlighting a specific profile name that caught their attention. The name was "Luzdesol," which translates to "Light of Sun." Some players speculate that this could be a clue regarding the name or callsign of the new support hero, or possibly even a hint at their abilities.

Fans have already started making their own concept art for the mystery support hero teased at the end of the Overwatch 2: Invasion trailer.

During the Xbox Showcase a new trailer for Overwatch was revealed and whilst this mainly focussed on the upcoming Story Missions for the Overwatch 2: Invasion update. But we also got a brief look at the new support hero coming to the game.

When Is The New Support Hero Coming to Overwatch 2?
When Overwatch 2 was first released, there were a lot of new heroes for players to enjoy on top of all the old heroes from the original game. After the game launched, Blizzard said that new Heroes and Maps would be released in separate seasons.
Following the release of the Overwatch 2 Roadmap we now know that Season 6 is adding a new support hero, followed by a new tank hero in Season 8.
As for when the new support hero is coming, we have a pretty good idea of when that will happen. The new Season 6 support hero for Overwatch 2 should be coming out on August 15th. This is based on how long previous seasons have lasted in Overwatch 2 but we will update this page when we get a more specific release date.
Who Is The New Overwatch 2 Support Hero?
When it comes to Overwatch 2, there are actually a lot of different characters that showed up that have been hinted at in the past. Kiriko and Junker Queen were referenced a couple of times in the lore of the original Overwatch. So it is possible that the new support hero is someone that already exists in the Overwatch universe. However, at the time of writing, there's no definitive answer as to who the next support hero could be. That being said, there's a pretty big hint that the new support hero could be from Peru. Why Peru? Let's explain.
Next Overwatch 2 Support Hero Is From Peru
First of all, why Peru? That's easy to explain. The teaser image/artwork used on the Overwatch 2 Roadmap is identical to the 'Peru' poster found on the Overwatch 2 Antarctic Peninsula map.
Equally, this old Overwatch 2 Blog post features a map, which seems to show and mention the city of Arequipa, which is in Peru.
For now, there are no specific clues as to who the hero could be specifically beyond their origins residing from Peru. There are a lot of potential characters that could be the new support hero in Overwatch 2, with some fans online suggesting it could be Helio, but for now, it's pure speculation.
