Palia's The Elderwood expansion added a bevy of new main story and side quests, new furniture and decor sets, food recipes, blueprints, and abundant resources and collectibles. One such collectible that Palians are having trouble finding is Sacred Flowers, a highly regarded resource that the Umbraans used to honor The Elderwood through a specific tradition.
Its in-game description may provide one lead as to how Palians may find them, but they have specified exactly how they can be used. As such, we've detailed in this blossoming guide as to how Palians may find and best utilize the Sacred Flowers, which we'll update once more ways have been discovered in Palia.
How To Get The Sacred Flowers In Palia?
Sacred Flowers are a new collectible item that Palians can find throughout the overworld of The Elderwood, but their locations are rather challenging even for the most experienced Adventurers. These sacred blossoms are hard to find in some cases; however, their official in-game description gives a clue as to where they can be found and, most importantly, how to use them.
As such, according to the in-game description for the Sacred Flowers, "These flowers, imbued with natural Flow, were used by the Umbraans to pay respect to the Elderwood at the various shrines scattered across the land. Sometimes the Elderwood even rewarded them for their devotion."
Examining the first sentence alone, this is true for some of the Sacred Flower locations as they are found near Umbraan Shrines, while the remaining are found scattered throughout The Elderwood, either in the overworld, hidden inside chests, or dropped as loot from hunting specific creatures. Lastly, they can be obtained as a reward from specific quests and also purchased from Tamala's Potion Store; however, there is a limit to acquiring them.
Below, we've listed all the discovered ways and locations to find the Sacred Flowers within The Elderwood in Palia:
Overworld:
- Tamala's Potion Store: Sacred Flowers can be purchased for 350 Infected Essence each for a maximum of five flowers.
- Elderwood Central Stables: From the Umbraan Shrine, seen under a canopy on the upper level, head to the right down the path, and once reaching the next platform, drop down to find a hidden area where a flower is found atop a crate.
- Elderwood Central Stables (South): Two flowers are found here, located on the path south from the Central Stables and from the entrance/exit, look to the left to find more crates and a chest, opening which awards them a flower. From the entrance/exit, go right around the pond, and to the left of the waterfall in the shallow waters is where the other Sacred Flower is found.
- Deep Woods Stables: Fast travel or head to the Deep Woods Stable board where they can climb up the tree to the nearest platform before gliding across to reach The Fallen Aquaduct, where on a platform is another Sacred Flower to forage.
- De Mer Dock: Fast travel to the De Mer Dock and sprint along the dock area where, to the right of the middle canopy, is a delapidated platform and another flower awaiting them amidst the wooden pile here.
- Okanaa Bog: The last flower found in the overworld is inside a hidden cave at the Okanaa Bog, east of an Umbraan Shrine, as they'll need to use a Bouncy Shroom to reach the hidden cave to find the flower and the Elderwood Mossy Rug.
Quests:
- The Nature of Shadows & Something Wicked Quests: Two main story quests, The Nature of Shadows and Something Wicked, will reward Palians with a Sacred Flower; however, after discussing the logs during the Something Wicked quest, they'll receive three Sacred Flowers before moving onto the next objective.
- All Quiet on the Umbraan Front Quest: This Found Item quest can be started after finding a logbook near an Umbraan Shrine in Northern Okanaa Bog, where they must find the hidden stash by following the objectives, and one of the items found within the hidden stash is a Sacred Flower.
- Little Bumble's Pie Quest: Another Found Item quest which is triggered by finding a Bundle of Letters near the Umbraan Shrine on the upper level of the Elderwood Central Stables, they'll receive a Treasure Box Key which the box is found in a hidden cave at Lilac Cavern which unlocking it awards them the Elderwood Pie recipe and a Sacred Flower.
Skills (Hunting):
- Piksii Shmoles: This type of Spore are typically found in caves throughout The Elderwood, which the Red Blossom Cave and Lilac Cavern are notable areas to find this critters which Palians must fire arrows, which Fine, Slowdown and Dispel Arrows should work as three shots will knock them out with a chance of a Scared Flower being a possible loot drop.
- Waveback Ogopuus: Like the Piksii Shmole, these higher rarity creatures are mostly found near bodies of water, like along the coast of the Deep Woods, at De Mer Dock, Okanaa Bog, and Mauvais Way. To take them down, we advise a party with friends and Fine Arrows, or if solo, Fine and Slowdown Arrows should work as these creatures are likely to drop a Sacred Flower as a loot drop.
How To Use The Sacred Flowers In Palia?
Referring back to the Sacred Flowers' in-game description, "These flowers, imbued with natural Flow, were used by the Umbraans to pay respect to the Elderwood at the various shrines scattered across the land." As such, Palians are to find Umbraan Shrones across The Elderwood, and once found, a permanent icon will be visible on the Elderwood World Map, in which Palians can visit them to offer a specific number of Sacred Flowers "to pay respect to the Elderwood."
Each Shrine has a different requirement for Sacred Flowers, and once they've made an offering to the Shrine, they will be awarded unique items that could be of great value. They could receive one of two items: either an Artifact Mystery bag or the Starstone Mystery Bag, which contains Starstones or one to two Artifacts; the latter of which may help Palians complete Artifact Bundles, or if they get a duplicate Artifact, they can be traded at the Artifact Trading Kiosks at the Elderwood Central Stables.
