Can Ledyba Be Shiny In Pokémon GO - July Spotlight

As the first July Spotlight Hour approaches during the Season of GO, let's look at if Ledyba can be shiny in Pokémon GO.
Can Ledyba Be Shiny In Pokémon GO - July Spotlight

July has just started and the next month in the Season of GO brings the Ledyba Spotlight Hour into the mix. Just like any other week, you may be wondering if shiny Ledyba can be caught in Pokémon GO during the Tuesday night event.

Not every Pokémon has a shiny form in Pokémon GO, which separates it from other games in the franchise. Shiny forms are typically saved as event releases for Trainers to pursue as they add to their overall collection in the mobile game. As time has gone on, the full lineup of shinies available in the game has grown exponentially, especially for earlier generations.

When the first Spotlight Hour in July begins, you will certainly have a chance to get a shiny Ledyba. Not only are all of the shiny forms confirmed in the July blog post for Pokémon GO, but there is another easy way to tell if the Pokémon will be shiny. All entries in Generation I and Generation II have confirmed shiny forms that will always have a chance to appear.

Nearly two years ago, there was a Kanto Tour event, and a Johto Event followed early in 2022. Both of these tour events brought shiny forms in their entirety from the first two generations. That same sentiment carries over beyond certain spotlights as well, and that rule will always remain the same in any event.

During the July 5th Spotlight Hour for Ledyba, you won't be guaranteed a shiny encounter, even if you participate. When Community Days are live, these will typically guarantee a shiny, but those odds don't translate. you'll have one hour from 6 pm local time to 7 pm local time to make the most of the Ledyba spawns.

There are some ways to ensure that your odds are increased along the way. First, you should have Incense Lures and Lure Modules at populated PokéStops. These will allow constant spawns of Ledyba during the short event window.

When you see a Ledyba, you only need to tap on it and encounter the Pokémon to see if it's shiny. Catching is not necessary, and backing out to find a different spawn will certainly save you some time. Just keep in mind that following some of these steps will not always guarantee that you get the shiny Ledyba that you want. All you can do is hope for the best during the event.
