Pokémon GO July 2022 Spotlight Hours - All featured Pokémon

Find out which Pokémon are featured in the July 2022 Spotlight Hours as the Season of GO continues in Pokémon GO.
Pokémon GO July 2022 Spotlight Hours - All featured Pokémon

June is almost over and that means it's time for Niantic to announce what the featured Pokémon will be for the July 2022 Spotlight Hours in Pokémon GO. Every month is a toss-up for what we can expect, but the chosen features usually follow the theme set for the new month.

Spotlight Hour announcements also weren't the only aspect of the new July 2022 announcement, but much of the information is still hidden until Niantic wants to reveal more. That means all we have for concrete information is the upcoming Spotlight Hours for the next four weeks and the Five-Star raids that Trainers can expect in the near future.

The dates will always vary, but each month will typically have four different Spotlight Hours. On very rare occasions, one month can have five, but that's not usually the case. Each Spotlight Hour in Pokémon GO takes place on a Tuesday night, so they are fairly predictable and they have been running for a long time now.

Every featured Pokémon and their hour will also have a set bonus for further incentive to join in the fun. These bonuses will be helpful for everyone and they don't require any tickets. Below you can find all of the upcoming July 2022 Spotlight Hours.

  • Ledyba - July 5 at 6 pm local time: 2x XP for catching Pokémon
  • Machamp - July 12 at 6 pm local time: 2x Candy for catching Pokémon
  • Staryu - July 19 at 6 pm local time: 2x Candy for transferring Pokémon
  • Meditite - July 26: 2x XP for evolving Pokémon

On top of going live every Tuesday night like clockwork, the times are also always the same. The Spotlight Hour will begin at 6 pm local time and end an hour later at 7 pm local time. These events can feel like they are over in a flash because of their short nature, so taking advantage of the bonuses and the spawns is important.

Which of July 2022 featured Spotlight Hour Pokémon is shiny?

The short answer to this question is all of them are. All four of the featured Pokémon in the July 2022 hours will have a shiny form. This is confirmed in the Niantic blog post within the Spotlight Hour information itself.

After the Kanto and Johto events ended, all of Generation I and II had shiny forms available to catch in the game. Most other Generations are filled out as well, but some are still missing shiny forms. Meditite is not one of them, and Trainers will have a chance at a shiny every Tuesday night.
