Niantic and The Pokémon Company are bringing their next live event to South Korea in the Pokémon GO Safari Zone: Goyang. The event forms part of the Season of Light update, and those in attendance can expect to encounter numerous Pokémon.

While no global in-app activities are planned for this live event, there are Raids featuring Celesteela and Kartana until 27th September 2022. This guide details everything Trainers need to know about Pokémon GO Safari Zone: Goyang, including event dates and times, featured Pokémon, and exclusive bonuses.

Pokémon GO Safari Zone Goyang – Event Dates & Times

The next Safari Zone event takes place for the first time in South Korea at the Ilsan Lake Park from 23rd to 25th September 2022 between 9 am and 6 pm local time. Trainers attending the in-person event can access the location from the main entrance at Hanul Square and four additional entrances from the adjacent parking areas and Musical Fountains.

Tickets are still available for this Safari Zone event and can be purchased from the Pokémon GO Event Ticketing web page. Trainers can buy a one-day ticket from the web page, so if they wish to attend all three days, it will need to be purchased separately if tickets for the days aren't sold out.

  • General Admission Ticket: ₩16000 (access to the location between 12 pm and 6 pm local time)
  • Early Access Ticket: ₩24000 (access to the location from 9 am local time)

Trainers will also be subjected to the event's COVID-19 protocols, which include using hand sanitizers and respecting the event's safety measures. While they're not required to wear face masks for the duration, it could be implemented should COVID-19 cases arise in the country.

Once arriving at the location, all attendees must boot up the Pokémon GO app to join in on the event-exclusive activities. They will be the availability of four battery charging stations marked "POWERBANK" found across Ilsan Lake Park.

If technical errors occur in-app or on-site, Trainers can refer to the official Niantic Support Twitter account and the FAQ Support page for the latest news and updates. Additionally, there is an on-site technical support team at Hanul Square for in-person assistance.

During this exclusive in-person event, several Pokémon appear in the wild throughout Ilsan Lake Park on the specific day and time printed on their ticket. This includes a Pikachu donning a Safari Hat, and there's a chance for a select few Pokémon having Shiny forms (*) appearing like the Shiny Spritzee.

Pokémon GO Safari Zone Goyang – Event Bonuses

Trainers can take advantage of various exclusive bonuses available for the duration of the Safari Zone event. They will be active for the allocated date and time printed on their ticket, which could include the following:

  • Four extra Special Trades can be achieved during the event with the max cap of Special Trades at five per day
  • Trades will use 50% less Stardust
  • Exclusive Special Research and Field Research tasks are available for the event
  • Activate Incense during the event will now last eight hours; however, it does not apply to Daily Adventure Incense
  • Trigger Lure Modules during the event will now last eight hours

Trainers attending the Pokémon GO Safari Zone: Goyang are reminded to remain safe at all times and ensure that they are hydrated. There are vending machines and water fountains for them to gain access to drinking fluids and more.
