There are dozens of held items that players can give to their Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. From the mystical plates spread across Sinnoh to evolutionary items, players have some searching to do if they want to maximize their team’s potential. However, if players use a Grass-type Pokémon, their choices might be limited.
There aren’t too many held items that can help out Grass-types in Sinnoh. Although, there is one that players can find relatively easily, being the Rose Incense. This held item powers up Grass-type moves and can be of extreme importance when taking on the Pokémon Champion.
Below, players can see exactly where to find the Rose Incense in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Finding the Rose Incense in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
The first thing that players need to do to find the Rose Incense is getting access to the HM for Surf outside of battle. You can acquire Surf from Cynthia’s grandmother in Celestic Town after you help defeat Team Galactic. However, you must also gain access to use it outside of battle, which only comes after defeating the Hearthome City Gym Leader, Fantina.
Once you’ve done that, stay in Hearthome City and go to the southern exit gate. This will bring you to Route 212, where you’ll need to stay going south. Keep running until you hit an area with some green bushes and a small pond of water. Near this pond will be an area with flowers and a Poké Ball surrounded by flowers.
You can simply press "A" on the water to Surf on it and hop off on the small area with the Poké Ball. The ball contains the Rose Incense, which you can give to any Pokémon with a Grass-type move to power it up even more. You’ll now be dealing more damage with any Grass-type move on the Pokémon that’s holding it.
