Trading in Grow A Garden isn’t as simple as clicking a button. In fact, there’s no official trade system at all. Instead, everything relies on Roblox’s native gift mechanic, meaning you’re essentially handing over your hard-earned crops or pets and hoping the other player holds up their end of the deal.
Risky? Yes. But if you know what you’re doing, trading can still be a powerful way to grow your garden faster. In this guide, we’ll walk you through exactly how to trade items in Grow A Garden, what’s possible (and what’s not), and how to avoid getting scammed.
Note: The developers will likely add a trade menu in a future update. This feature, however, is not yet available as of the Bizzy Bees update.
How Does Trading Work In Grow A Garden?
There’s no formal trade button in Grow A Garden, which means all trading is done through gifting. To gift a plant, you must be on the same server as the buyer. Equip the crop from your inventory (your avatar will hold it) and then walk up to the other player.
When you’re close enough, press E to initiate the gift. If nothing happens, make sure they have “Receive Gifts” enabled in their settings. Since this system is built entirely on trust, there's no guarantee you’ll get anything back. So make sure you only trade with trustworthy players!
Can You Trade Seeds Or Pets In Grow A Garden?
Yes, you can, but seeds and pets come with extra rules. You can’t gift seeds from your inventory or plant them in someone else's plot. The only way to gift seeds is through Sam’s Seed Shop and only with Robux.
To do this, find the seed you want, hit the "Gift" button beside it, and select a player on your server. This costs Robux—not Sheckles—so it’s more of a donation than a trade.
As for pets, gifting works just like crops. Equip the pet, walk up to your trade partner, and press E when prompted. Again, there’s no built-in confirmation system—so don’t expect a refund if things go sideways.
How To Avoid Getting Scammed When Trading In Grow A Garden
Want to avoid getting scammed? Trade smart. Don’t just hand over your best crop to a random player with a smiley face avatar. Always agree on terms beforehand—preferably in chat—and never trade on private servers unless you trust the person.
To make sure you’re not being duped, cross-check what you’re giving and getting with a proper trade value list. If the numbers don’t add up, walk away. No deal is better than getting rinsed for your Moon Melon.
And that's how to trade in Grow A Garden. Honestly, trading feels more like the honor system than an actual economy. Without a proper trading interface, you're always at the mercy of your trade partner's honesty.
