Valheim Xbox Consoles and Game Pass Release Date

Back in February 2021, developer Iron Gate AB and publisher Coffee Stain Publishing unleashed Valheim into Steam Early Access but there has been no mention of a Valheim console or Game Pass release date. The game saw an incredible amount of players join in, pulling no punches as a brutal survival game purgatory inspired by Viking culture.

Now, the developers and Microsoft have announced the Valheim Xbox consoles release date window, and when it will release on Steam.

Valheim Game Pass and Xbox release date

Sharpen those axes and get ready to survive the brutal world of Valheim for free on Xbox Game Pass both for Xbox consoles and PC via Microsoft Store.

According to the announcement (view at the bottom of this article) Valheim will release on Game Pass for PC (via Microsoft Store) in Fall 2022. 

This puts the release date window for Valheim on Game Pass for PC between 22nd September and 21st December 2023.

Keep in mind that things might change during the development process, and this is just a release date window at the time of writing, with no exact date pinned down.

Console gamers, specifically those on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles will have to wait a little longer, with the Valheim release date window for Xbox Game Pass announced as "Early Spring 2023".

For those who don't know, Spring next year in the Northern Hemisphere begins on 20th March 2023 and ends on 20th June 2023.

Porting to Xbox consoles and the Microsoft Store is being handled by developers Fishlabs and Piktiv. Another exciting tidbit of information from the announcement is that there will be full crossplay support between Xbox consoles, as well as Microsoft Store PC and Steam.
