MrBeast plans to recreate Squid Game in real life

YouTube star and philanthropist, Jimmy "MrBeast" Donaldson, is planning on recreating a real-life adaptation of the Netflix Original Series, Squid Game, in what could be his biggest YouTube challenge yet.

The Squid Game series follows a group of destitute contestants as they attempt to complete various challenges (each resembling children's games) in order to escape poverty. Those that succeed earn unimaginable riches, whilst those that fail will (quite literally) die trying.

Of course, we doubt that MrBeast's version will involve contestants fighting till the death (except maybe Chandler) but given the lucrative stakes of his prior challenges, which included a $500,000 game of Tag and a $100,000 bank heist challenge, we are certain that a Squid Game YouTube challenge could arguably see the biggest reward from a MrBeast challenge yet.

MrBeast's latest TikTok video, which was posted on 11th October, indicated that if the video got 10 million likes, he would recreate Squid Games in real life.

At the time of writing, MrBeast's TikTok video has already surpassed the prerequisite number of likes - merely 13 hours after being uploaded.

While he has not confirmed that he will be bringing the famed Netflix Original Series to life, we expect that an announcement or update will follow very soon.

We can only guess what MrBeast's Squid Game recreation will look like, but we imagine that it will comprise several of his subscribers joining as contestants. We could also see the challenge run over multiple days, like the Tag game challenge.

Squid Game has been highly acclaimed and currently is regarded as the most popular show on Netflix, globally. Several adaptations of the series have also crept their way into popular video games, with YouTube star PewDiePie recently playing the Roblox Squid Game game mode.

Twitch icon, Felix "xQc" Lengyel, was also recently invited to compete with other popular streamers in an adaptation of Squid Game in a custom Grand Theft Auto roleplay server. This came shortly after Sykunno attempted to recreate one of the Squid Game challenges in his Twitch stream.
