How to complete A Hollow Coronation and get Ager's Scepter in Destiny 2

If you've been following along with the Tracing the Stars quest, it's time to earn your exotic trace rifle.
How to complete A Hollow Coronation and get Ager's Scepter in Destiny 2

Bungie has been building up to the reveal of a brand-new exotic trace rifle since the beginning of Season of the Lost, Ager's Scepter, with players tracked with finding Atlas Skew via the Tracing the Stars questline (we have guides for all of them in our dedicated Destiny 2 section), in order to unlock its location.

Now, with the start of week 4, Ager's Scepter is ours for the taking, albeit following some steps within the A Hollow Coronation exotic quest, which will be given to you if you've completed the previous Tracing the Stars missions.

Let's cut right to the chase and tell you everything you need to know about the A Hollow Coronation exotic quest.

How to complete A Hollow Coronation in Destiny 2

Immediately after you pick up the quest from the Wayfinder's Voyage, go talk to Mara Sov, and she'll send you to find the last remaining batch of Atlas Skews to finally locate Ager's Scepter.

Where to find Atlas Skews

This time, we're heading to the Confluence and adjoining passageways area within the Dreaming City. The locations can be found below.

If you don't know how to get to the Confluence, head towards Spine of Kere's, as soon as you reach the bridge that leads to the temple, look to your right and drop down a cliff, follow the path until you reach a Taken portal, go through it and you should be good to go.

Now, unto the Skews.

Confluence Giant Crystal

Once you take the portal, take a left and make your way until you reach a, you guessed it, giant crystal, the Skew is right there.

Confluence Throne Portal

Continue on a straight line, no way to get lost finding thins one, eventually you'll reach a section of the Shattered Throne and you'll see the Skew near the Taken-covered area of the section.

Head back to the room before you reach the Throne and make your way through the right alley, reach the end and the Skew will be in front of a giant statue.

Head back to the room once more and continue to the door which is now directly in front of you, you'll easily spot a tree in that direction, this is the location of the fourth Atlas Skew.

Garden Entry Statue

Continue down the path where you found the fourth Atlas Skew, it'll lead you to the Gardens of Esila, turn left and the Skew is right in front of the statue.

Once you do this, head back to the H.E.L.M and deposit the Skews on the final vessel to activate the next step of the quest.

Enter the Caliburn Gatehouse and find Afer's Scepter

Once you're done listening to the Crow's story about the Scepter, make your way through the portal, and you'll be able to "claim" Ager's Scepter, however, there are still a few steps to complete.

Pay a visit to Mara Sov at the H.E.L.M once again for the next quest step.

Gather Parallax Trajectory and earn Rifle kills

This next step is a bit of a grind, as you are required to earn a total of 100 Parallax Trajectory and kill a ton of enemies within Astral Alignment, the seasonal activity, to progress further.

The kills can be made with any of the following archetypes:

  • Trace Rifles
  • Auto Rifles
  • Pulse Rifles
  • Sniper Rifles

You'll earn 3 Parallax at random from killing enemies, and it can give you an extra batch of Parallax for completing the activity, so time to get grinding.

Defeat Champions and get Super kills in Astral Alignment

For the next step, you'll have to switch your focus to the Champions that appear in Astral Alignment. You'll need Overload and Unstoppable mods to make this step much easier, so be sure to unlock those from this season's artifact.

In total, you'll need:

  • 18 Champions defeated
  • 20 Super kills

If you want to know more about Champions, check out our guide to help you out.

Collec Strands of Nobility from thieves all across the system

We finally leave Astral Alignment for this one and into some Strikes. There isn't a special modifier of some kind or any extra steps to them, simply run and defeat the bosses of the following ones to progress further.

  • Lake of Shadows (EDZ)
  • The Disgraced (Cosmodrome)
  • The Glassway (Europa)

Visit Mara Sov

Time to head back to the H.E.L.M, with the Strands of Nobility you've collected, she'll hand you a Noble Seal, which will allow you to bypass the barrier around Ager's Scepter.

Claim Ager's Scepter

After all that grinding, it's finally time to get our hands on that sweet new Stasis exotic trace rifle. So, follow your new location marked at the H.E.L.M to proceed.

  • Ager's Call: Final blows with this weapon generate a slowing burst around the defeated target
  • Rega's Refrain: Stasis final blows transfer ammo to this weapon's magazine from reserves

Defeat Kelgorath, Risen from Bones and his Minions

With Ager's Scepter in hand, shoot a barrier that's blocking the entrance to a final encounter with a Hive boss. Nothing fancy here, simply take down the boss and head back to Mara Sov to complete the quest.

You'll be rewarded with an incredible cutscene which we don't want to spoil, and that's that! The end of the month-long search for Ager's Scepter has come to an end.
