Destiny 2 Season of the Deep Story, Explained

As of this writing, Bungie hasn't confirmed what Season of the Deep will be about. The studio has, however, confirmed that Season of the Deep would add a new quest that will apparently take players back to Neomuna and clear the air around the enigmatic Veil from the Lightfall campaign. Completing this quest will also unlock the new Strand Aspects and a new Legendary Hand Cannon.

As far as the season's story is concerned, the official key art suggests that Sloane, Zavala's deputy commander, will return for the first time since fighting the hives on the planet Titan. Speaking of Titan, it seems the coastal planet will be returning in Season of the Deep, though we might be exploring it from below the surface and not above the surface as before.

What Is the Price of Destiny 2 Season of the Deep

This is quite important - Bungie is increasing the price of the Destiny 2 season pass from Season of the Deep. Instead of 1000 Silver, players have to spend 1200 Silver to buy the season pass. Additionally, the Season Pass + 10 Rank bundle will now cost 2200 Silver instead of 2000.

New Destiny 2 Season of the Deep Strand Aspects

Every class is receiving a new Strand subclass Aspect in Destiny 2 Season of the Deep. These are:

Hunter: Threaded Specter

"Activate your class ability to leave behind a decoy woven from Strand matter that draws the attention of nearby combatants."

Warlock: The Wanderer

"Tangles you throw attach to enemies and detonate into a suspending burst. Threadling final blows create a Tangle. After taking significant damage or when combatants approach, the decoy detonates, dealing damage and releasing Threadlings that seek out and attack nearby foes."

Titan: Flechette Storm

"While sliding, activate your charged melee ability to leap into the air, knocking nearby targets away and dealing damage. While airborne, activate your charged melee again to launch a cluster of damaging, Unraveling projectiles. Repeatedly activating melee will chain additional throws."
