Top 10 Best Elden Ring Mods For PC (2023)

Elden Ring has amassed a massive following since its global release over a year ago, as it continues attracting more players from veteran Soulsborne players, RPG enthusiasts, and beginners. Arriving in The Lands Between can be a fun and exciting experience until you’ve met the game’s unique yet excruciating enemies and bosses throughout its vast open-world setting.

Whether it's having access to late-game items, improving game quality and performance, or making enemies and bosses easier to battle, there is a PC mod that makes your time less frustrating, but which is considered to be the essential and the best mods for Elden Ring? We’ve detailed the top 10 best Elden Ring mods you can install and provided how to download them to your PC.

Best Elden Ring Mods in 2023

Elden Ring supports mods which wouldn’t have been possible due to the growing modding community that first developed stable mods for Dark Souls’ PC version. Since then, developer FromSoftware has been actively supporting the modding community by making subsequent games have functionality for mods, making your time in The Lands Between much easier or even harder.

While there’s a plethora of useful and sometimes crazy mods available for Tarnished to try their hands at, these essential mods stand out in a league of their own due to what they provide. With that being said, these are the top 10 best mods to install and use in Elden Ring, according to the notable modding platform Nexus Mods:

  • Seamless Co-Op: As most mods automatically disable the Easy Anti-Cheat feature, which prohibits players from connecting to game servers, this mod allows you and five other players to explore The Lands Between without many restrictions.
  • Elden Mod Loader: This mod allows you to load all DLL mods as soon as you’ve launched the game instead of manually loading. While several mods require this mod installed for them to work, you must have the Easy Anti-Cheat disabled for this mod to run efficiently.
  • Anti-Cheat Toggler and Offline Launcher: If you should be stuck without an internet connection or wish to have a quiet, sobering experience in The Lands Between, this mod allows you to play the game offline. Additionally, it offers various perks, including toggling other mods and not launching the Easy Anti-Cheat regardless of how to boot the game.
  • Elden Ring Item and Enemy Randomizer: This mod is self-explanatory as it randomizes everything in Elden Ring, from enemies and bosses to item drops, armor, and weapons, especially when you’ve played the game a handful of times and know when things occur in-game.
  • Elden Ring Ultimate Cheat Engine Table: This cheat sheet mod lets you customize your gameplay experience to your preference by modding the entire game. This includes developing new spells and sorceries, toggling which enemies and bosses to spawn, editing stats, and more.
  • Elden Ring Reforged (ERR): If you’re looking for a mod that overhauls the game, Elden Ring Reforged does just that. This mod brings plenty of adjustments and in-game balance, including enemy UI and equipment balance fixes, adding new features like gameplay mechanics and increased difficulty for enemies at the Roundtable Hold.
  • Cleaver’s Moveset Modpack: This combat mod allows players to equip their character with various weapon art talents and new movesets. While this adds more depth and variety to the game, it’s advised first to complete it as adding this mod will replace various Ashes of War, especially if you wish to begin New Game+ mode.
  • Elden ReShader - HDR FX: Players can further boost the game’s graphical performance with this reshader mod. While it lets you play Elden Ring in HDR, regardless of whether your monitor supports it, it enhances the game’s stunning visual and art design, in-game lighting and improves the appearance of landmarks and enemies.
  • Pause The Game: As the mod’s name suggests, pausing Elden Ring is a feature that doesn’t exist until now. You can easily pause the game at any point in your gameplay, whether using a mouse and keyboard or controller, but it requires installing the Elden Ring Mod Loader to function.
  • Elden Ring Ascended Mod: Unlike the Elden Ring Reforged mod, the Ascended Mod adds new buffs and effects for various armor, weapons, spells, and Talismans. The mod also allows players to equip different Ashes of War for their weapons and new enemy status debuffs, which makes combat much more exciting.

To locate these mods on Nexus Mods, browse its directory for Elden Ring, and it will bring up a list of mods currently available and supported on PC. Before installing any of the mods mentioned above, read its installation instructions, as various mods may have different installation methods and help you understand how they work.

Select the Files tab to install the necessary file/s you need to download manually or via Vortex. If you download the files manually, the mod will automatically be installed on your PC and ready to use; however, through Vortex, a download pop-up window will appear, and you can select the file/s from the installation file list to need to install.
