How to get and use Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman in Elden Ring

Elden Ring features unique equipment items like talismans that can grant varying effects, but none of them boosts defence quite as the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman does. The talisman is a great addition to almost any build, but getting a hold of the Dragoncrest won't be so easy.

Players are well aware of just how dangerous the Haligtree area can get as it's challenging and quite dangerous to access it. But acquiring the talisman can be rewarding as we detail how to obtain and utilise it in Elden Ring.

How to find the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman in Elden Ring?

Before you can grab the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman in Elden Ring, you need access to Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. For this, you'll need to acquire the halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion to unlock the Hidden Path to the Haligtree.

The first half is found in the swamp caves west of the Village of the Albinaurics; along a path, look for a pot past the first Perfumer enemy. Striking it will reveal an older man disguised as the pot and speaking to him, he'll hand you the first half.

The second half will require you to Castle Sol at the Mountaintop of the Giants, where defeating Commander Niall can grant you access to various sections of this location. After this fight, head up to the rooftop of the tower north-east of Castle Sol, where you'll find the second half of the Medallion.

Bring both halves to the Grand Lift of Rold located at the Forbidden Lands to the secret area within the Consecrated Snowfields. This area is quite deceptive with plenty of rooms and illusory walls, but you'll eventually reach the Consecrated Snowfields by moving through the area.

Once in the central area, you'll need the Map Fragment not far from your current location, from which, heading north, you'll find the town of Ordina Liturgical Town. Solving the puzzle in this town will lead you to the Haligtree by lighting candles on the rooftop west of Ordina.

This will transport you out of the Evergaol, dropping the barrier to the Haligtree. After being teleported, you'll arrive at Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree, where you'll need to locate the Drainage Channel Site of Grace near the Elphael Inner Wall.

Exit the tunnel from the Site of Grace, moving across the tree branches onto the building's rooftop on the left. There will be a hole to jump through. On this level, you'll find a chest that contains the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman.

Once you have the talisman in your possession, you can equip it to any of your pouch slots. It helps to know what stats the talisman possesses and how they can be applied to a standard build.

Defence is the only focus of the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman as it will enormously boost physical damage negation. It gives one of the most considerable boosts to defence in the entire game, and it's no surprise that it's found in the Haligtree.

Players who use it will get a flat boost to negation percentage, especially in PvE content, where it'll give a 20% boost to all physical damage negation within the game. If a player has no countering and puts on the talisman, they will turn a 100 damage hit into an 80 damage hit, but for PvP, the percentage is only 5% in total.
