Elden Ring Wing of Astel sword – Location, weapon stats and more

The Wing of Astel can be found in Nokstella, Eternal City, but it poses a challenge as strong enemies can hinder your search for the weapon.
Elden Ring Wing of Astel sword – Location, weapon stats and more

The Wing of Astel is one of Elden Ring's most unique weapons that launch ranged and AoE attacks on enemies through its amazing Unique Skill. Dealing both Physical and Magic damage, obtaining the weapon will demand some elbow grease by investing in a specific questline.

This weapon can work with most Elden Ring builds; however, it works best with high Intelligence and Dexterity builds due to its stats. This guide will detail how to find the Wing of Astel and explore its weapon stats in Elden Ring.

Where to find the Wing of Astel in Elden Ring?

Before tracking down this curved sword, players must have unlocked the lower section of Liurnia of the Lakes. This can be achieved by progressing with Ranni's questline until you've reached Nokstella, Eternal City.

There are various Points of Interest (POIs), both overland and underground; however, one POI concerning the weapon is the Uhl Palace Ruins. The underground location can be accessed by visiting the Ainsel River Well, north of the Eastern Tableland Site of Grace.

This will bring you to the southern section of Uhl Palace Ruins, where you need to travel in a north-west direction by following the river to reach the Ainsel River Downstream Site of Grace. Once at this Site of Grace, locate a cavernous tunnel with plenty of enemies that deal a good amount of damage, even with strong armour.

Head downwards through the tunnel and move towards it by staying close to its right side. You'll find an enemy at the end of the tunnel, where you'll need to make a right turn but remain close to the cliff's edge.

Peak over the edge to find a ledge that you need to drop down and move forward along the pathway here. A massive boss will hurl large boulders at you, which can be avoided by hiding behind a pillar near a beam.

Once it's charging for its next attack, running along the beam to find a chest in the middle. Opening the chest to find the Wing of Astel weapon before heading back out the way you came from or by accessing your map and travel to the nearest Site of Grace.

Wing of Astel weapon stats in Elden Ring

The Wing of Astel scales high with the Dexterity and Intelligence stats, perfect for any build, especially high Intelligence builds. This weapon is known for its Unique Skill, Nebula, which charges the magic of the Naturalborn's stars to unleash an attack that leaves a cosmic cloud that detonates after impact.

While its normal attack can deal a decent amount of damage, its charged or heavy attack launches a magical wave that charged up twice can launch two magical wave attacks. Both the weapon's Unique Skill and charged attack are great at dealing AoE damage for multiple enemies or one large boss, especially when using the Nebula, as each exploding star will deal damage.

The weapon only costs 2.5 in weight, making it an excellent weapon to keep on hand as it won't over encumber your inventory. Unfortunately, you can't infuse it with an Ash of War due to the weapon's Unique Skill, the Nebula, nor can it be bolstered with Consumable items or magic.

Nevertheless, the damage dealt by the Nebula Unique Skill can be enhanced with the Spellblade set, which can be acquired from Rogier at the Roundtable Hold. It does require some attributes to wield the weapon, which are the following:

  • 7 Strength
  • 17 Dexterity
  • 20 Intelligence

Upgrading the weapon requires Somber Smithing Stones, significantly increasing its Attack Power. Once you have enough Somber Smithing Stones, you can take the weapon to a blacksmith to perform the upgrade.
