Genshin Impact Sumeru Teaser 2 – Small Details You Might Have Missed

Genshin Impact released a new Preview Teaser trailer highlighting the game's Sumeru region. The second trailer focuses on the region's environmental designs with a closer look at various Points of Interest (POIs).

The breathtaking trailer shows the major differences between the regions due to the inclusion of rainforests and deserts. We'll be breaking down the latest Preview teaser trailer for Genshin Impact's Sumeru region and exploring the myriad of details you may have missed.

Genshin Impact Sumeru Teaser 2 – Fauna and Flora

Genshin Impact developer, HoYoverse, released the second Preview Teaser trailer for the game's latest region on 23rd July 2022. One of the standout features of the Sumeru trailer is the abundance of fauna and flora sprawling across the region. Some finer details are the appearance of buildings housing structures built into the trees spotted in the trailer. Later, there are villages built around the enormous trees with NPCs appearing in and around them and the tree itself.

Another detail we've spotted is that the treehouse housing the large white flowers in the 2.8 Special Program Livestream this month may be seen again. But what wasn't revealed was the mass of orange-hued flowers, statuesque trees, and more immaculate structures littering the greenhouse area.

Exploring the rainforest areas of Sumeru, travelers will encounter many ancient tree roots deep within the location, but it's unclear how they'll factor into the region's lore. Additionally, different types and sizes of fungi are found to bear a similar resemblance to ones we've discovered within The Chasm.

The Chasm and the mushroom may be related, meaning that we could see more mushrooms spawning in areas nearby The Chasm. There are also similarities in fauna between the environments in Enkanomiya and Sumeru due to their luminescent qualities, so there may be a possibility of it being a similar species.

The fauna and flora in the desert area are vastly different from the rainforest, with smaller trees spotted and abundant cacti found throughout the region. The ecosystem is also diverse between the two subareas; although humid and dense, the desert area could potentially showcase dynamic weather changes from hot and dry to moist and windy.

We got a first look at a large ornate tree during the Preview Teaser trailer, which could be located in Sumeru City. (Picture: HoYoverse)

A sizeable ornate tree also appeared in the trailer based on its design; this could be the primary tree found in Sumeru City. Guards are presiding over the tree's entrance, so this location is significant to the region and the Archon and Story Quests.

There were also large mechanical structures within the trailer, and it's suggested that Khaenri'ah built them. What purpose or purposes these structures were designed for also is unclear, but we may learn more when the Genshin Impact 3.0 update is released.

Genshin Impact Sumeru - Subareas and Domains

From the lush and colorful fauna and flora, the trailer explores a few subareas of the region, starting with the rainforest area. Dense, tropical, and serene, this location features some interesting explorable areas which might be linked to future events, and there may be new enemies that could spawn here.

With the presence of large, robust roots across the rainforest of Sumeru, there may be a possibility of a singular tree, an ancient tree, covering most of this region. The desert area, which has been previously leaked, finally got its official reveal, which appears to be expansive, humid, and mountainous in appearance.

In the far distance, we can spot a peculiar structure, which could be a ruin or domain with an inverted pyramid positioned above it. The trailer highlighted an oasis-like area that may share similarities with the rainforest river area, but what this oasis holds for the Traveler remains a mystery.

We got more first-looks into Sumeru ruins, which are intricately designed, with a handful of structures resembling or drawing inspiration from Egyptian gods found throughout. The appearances of these structures pose interesting questions about whether they're connected with the region's Archon and who built these ruins in the desert.

The trailer also previewed the ruins' underground area, posing similarities with The Chasm's underground area. Whether they could be potentially connected is quite fascinating, but given how close The Chasm is to Sumeru, anything is possible in Genshin Impact.

Lastly, we finally got to see a harbor location, which may be the region's main entry port and accessible from Watatsumi Island. This area was alluded to when the area was added to the game, so Travelers may finally be able to access Sumeru from Watatsumi Island.

As we draw closer to the release of the 3.0 update, we can expect more information regarding this new region in the coming weeks. We will endeavor to provide more updates once more reliable information is available.
