When Is Photo Mode Coming To God of War Ragnarok?

God of War Ragnarok has finally arrived on PS4 and PS5, making this Sony Santa Monica Studio's first official release on Sony's latest video game console. Like its 2018's predecessor, this latest entry in the long-running hack n slash series is a visual spectacle, offering photo-realistic graphics and incredibly detailed character models.

As is the case with most big AAA releases nowadays, fans can't stop taking pictures in God of War Ragnarok. Sadly, at launch, the game lacks a dedicated photo mode like its predecessor and some other notable PS5 releases.

While the lack of a dedicated photo mode in God of War Ragnarok at launch is unfortunate, many fans have been wondering whether the studio plans to add this in-game feature in the future or not.

God of War Ragnarok Photo Mode Release Date

Thankfully, Sony Santa Monica Studios has confirmed that photo mode will be coming to God of War Ragnarok after launch.

The announcement came just days before the game's reviews dropped via Sony Santa Monica Studio's official Twitter account. 

Photo Mode will be coming to God of War Ragnarök after launch - we’ll share more details closer to when we plan to release it.

As of this writing, the studio has not confirmed when exactly the photo mode update will arrive in God of War Ragnarok.

The studio did, however, launch a massive day-one patch for the game that includes over 160 fixes. 

2018's God of War offered a ton of options in its photo mode, so fans should expect something similar in God of War Ragnarok.

That said, Twitter user Speclizer_ recently shared screenshots and videos of an unfinished photo mode in the game.

Since the photo mode files are available in the launch version of God of War Ragnarok, it's likely that the update is not far from release. We will update this article when more info is available.
