Here is everything you need to know about the Eternals system in League of Legends.
League of Legends Eternals Series 2: How To Get Them & What They Do

There are tons of different systems and in-game currencies to collect and track in League of Legends. One of the newest additions to the game comes in the form of Eternals. Originally released in 2020, Eternals can be a little confusing for newer players or those returning to the game after an extended hiatus.

This article will cover everything you need to know about Eternals in League of Legends, including what they are exactly, how they work, and how you can acquire more of them!

What Are Eternals In League of Legends?

Eternals
Eternals will track your progress with a specific champion.

Simply put, Eternals are champion-specific trackers that will record your gameplay for that specified champion and convert crowning moments into a number you can use to flex on your enemies in the loading screen. For example, Viego's Eternals are as follows:

  • Broken Hearts: Champions killed with Heartbreaker (R)
  • In Their Shoes: Damage dealt to champions while possessing a soul (P)
  • Spectral Stunner: Champions stunned for the maximum duration by Spectral Maw (W)

Each champion will require different methods to increase their Eternals. Thankfully, players should never have to go out of their way to increase Eternals, and they should increase naturally as you play more games.

Eternals come in six types:

  • The Warden
  • The Protector
  • The Guide
  • The Empress
  • The Warrior
  • The Trickster

Each champion will have Eternals that fall under these types and are based loosely on the character's class or the ability attached to the specific Eternal. For example, Viego's first two Eternals are Warrior Eternals, as they require you to deal damage and get kills. However, his final Eternal is a Warden Eternal because stunning is a form of Crowd Control.

How To Use Eternals In League of Legends

Eternals
Flex on your enemies with Eternals in League of Legends!

Eternals do not have a specific use per se. They are more of an ongoing record to celebrate your greatest achievements and dedication to specific champions. That being said, Eternals can be used to upgrade your champion's Mastery emote and can also be disenchanted for additional Orange Essence

Eternals will also appear on the back of your champion card in the loading screen and will pop up on the enemy's death screen if you killed them. Players can track their individual Eternals' progress in the Progression tab of the League of Legends client.

How To Get Eternals In League of Legends

Eternals
Eternals can be bought individually or as part of a bundle.

Eternals can be purchased directly from a champion's page or via the in-game store. They can be bought individually or as part of a bundle (Series Pass) that will unlock all Eternals in a particular Series for the specified champion. Individual Eternals cost 600 RP, and the Season Pass costs 5850 RP

It is also possible to acquire Eternals via all forms of Hextech Chests.  For more information on Eternals, feel free to check out the official breakdown of the Eternals system created by Riot Games below.
