Update: Lost Ark developer Smilegate announced on Twitter that all servers will be coming down for a maintenance period for a hotfix on 15th March 2022. The hotfix will address several critical issues raised over the weekend, including bugs affecting the Tytalos Guardian Raid and, more recently, the daylight savings bug.

Furthermore, the maintenance period is scheduled to occur at 12 am PT / 7 am UTC / 8 am CET. Downtime is expected to be around four hours, according to the developer.

Original story continues.

Lost Ark developer Smilegate addressed player reports regarding a bugged Guardian Raid, which has prevented players from progressing in-game. The Guardian Raid bug was likely derived from a weekly update rolled out globally on 3rd March 2022.

Originally intended to address several balance changes across Abyssal Dungeons and Guardian Raids, it appears that update may have accidentally made one Guardian Raid much harder. The issue, however, has divided players online, with many claiming the update broke the raid's mechanics while others exclaimed that players need to get better at the game.

Lost Ark Tytalos Guardian Raid is bugged

Posted to the official Lost Ark forum on 12th March 2022, a community member addressed an issue involving the Tytalos Guardian Raid. According to the forum post, players have reported a bug that affects the Guardian Raid, preventing player progression.

"We are aware of an issue within the Tytalos Guardian Raid that makes defeating Tytalos in the time frame allotted extremely difficult for the power level required to participate in the Guardian Raid, creating a blocker for progression," according to a community manager.

The forum post has made its way to the official Lost Ark subreddit, where many have shared their experiences and comments relating to the ongoing issue. For example, one Reddit user stated, "The problem is the way to avoid his one-shot mechanic is inconsistent the sand storms don't always spawn."

Many Reddit users have commented on telling players to "get good" when engaging in the Guardian Raid battle against Tytalos. One frustrated Reddit user advised players to "do the mechanic", adding, "It's easy. No idea what all the complaining is about".

It is clear from the responses players have provided that the developer had accidentally nerfed Tytalos' mechanic, making it harder to defeat. Additionally, the nerf prevented the sandstorms from spawning when Tytalos "explodes".

"They nerfed the mechanic to not be a one-shot in theory. But it could still one-shot people at the recommended entry-level, particularly when they were under 100% health," Reddit user laconiczebra wrote.

They further elaborated how the broken mechanics have negatively impacted players' progression, stating, "The nerf also seemed to change how the tornados spawn for the mechanic such that they're not always up when Tytalos explodes. Whether that was intentional or a bug is unclear, but the result is that sometimes people at the recommended gear level get nuked with no recourse."

As of writing, developer Smilegate is busy investigating the issue; they're preparing a hotfix to ease the problem temporarily. According to a tweet posted on the official Lost Ark page, the team will be releasing the hotfix to all players on 14th March 2022.

Additionally, they have advised players, in the meantime, not to participate in the Tytalos Guardian Raid until the hotfix has been released. They went on to thank players for their patience and cooperating with the development team bringing the issue to their attention.

Smilegate is working on possibly compensating players unable to progress due to the Tytalos Guardian Raid issue. We will continue to follow this story, providing more news and the latest updates as soon as they've become available.
