Mario Strikers: Battle League is a newly released 5-on-5 sports game from Nintendo. This latest title is a reboot of the 2005 Gamecube original, brought to life on the Nintendo Switch, and is the third of its kind within the new Mario Strikers video game series.

This guide will detail all the standard controls for Mario Strikers: Battle League; whether you're playing with the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller or Joy-Cons, it's all the same.

With the ball

• Free Lob Pass -  ZL + Y
• Free Pass - ZL + B
• Move - L
• Dodge - R or Shake Controller
• Dash - ZR
• Pause Menu - +
• Use Item - X
• Lob Pass - Y

Without the ball

• Switch Character -  ZL or L

It's also helpful to know that Mario Strikers: Battle League can also be played in Solo Horizontal Grip mode using a single Joy-Con. This means that two friends can play together by sharing a single controller.
