For players who are new to Multiversus or for veteran players, there are many mechanics and features to the game that can be a bit difficult to wrap your head around. One of these mechanics is the Rested XP bonus, and one might often wonder how this system works. Well, we have the answers for you.
Below we're going to be breaking down and explaining everything you need to know about the Rested XP System in Multiverses. Look at how it works, and how you can get the most out of the system the next time you jump into the game.
How Does Rested XP System Work In MultiVersus
In MultiVersus, Rested XP allows you to earn extra Battle Pass experience by playing daily matches and also serves to encourage players to return to the game regularly. Rested XP is represented by a red bar (when full) underneath the large “Play” button in the MultiVersus main menu. You can also see your Rested XP bar on the Battle Pass page above the scrollable Tier Rewards list.
The Rested XP functions quite like its namesake, by "resting" or not playing the game and logging off for a few hours, you will build up the Rested XP bar. This bar gives you a multiplier (of x2 at max) when you earn any XP as you play, and it depreciates the longer you spend playing until it is fully depleted and you're back to earning normal amounts of XP.

To continue earning Rested XP with the hefty x2 bonus, return to MultiVersus the following day (24 hours later), at which point the bar should have reset and be full again. In a nutshell, the Rested XP system encourages players to return each day and play a few matches rather than grinding away at the game for hours.
The best way to take advantage of Rested XP is to log in and play a few matches at the same time each day until the bar is completely depleted. You could, for example, combine the process of completing daily missions to burn through your Rested XP for the day.
Once those are finished and your Rested XP bar is completely depleted, you're done for the day and can return tomorrow at the same time to repeat the process. Of course, how you use the Rested XP system in MultiVersus is entirely up to you, so once the bar depletes, you can keep playing as much as you want and focus on grinding that XP bonus again tomorrow.
