New World: How To get rice

There are several items of food in New World that players can’t seem to find no matter how hard they try. rice is among these food items and it can be frustrating for players who need it for a quest or cooking recipe but they have no idea where to start looking for it. 

There are some general rules to follow when it comes to food. The first is to make sure it’s not a harvestable ingredient, as those are fairly easy to find in Aeternum as long you have a sickle tool in your inventory. The next step is to check that it’s not found from a specific quest, as some items are. Finally, you need to ensure that it’s not derived from another piece of food, like Fish Roe. 

With rice, none of these rules apply, so players can try the only thing left. They can find out what this below.

Finding rice in New World 

The only way to currently obtain rice in New World is by searching provisions crates that are scattered around small towns in Aeternum. Many settlement quests involve you searching chests in these towns, so you shouldn’t have any trouble locating them. 

However, the problem is that there’s not a guaranteed chance you will acquire rice by searching any of these chests. At some point, you will acquire rice. For unlucky players, though, this isn’t readily apparent, as searching an entire town’s supply of provisions crates might not yield the rice they’re looking for. 

Although, as long as you’re staying diligent in searching towns or villages for these provisions crates, you’ll eventually find rice in New World. Every region has their fair share of these crates, so all that’s left is to visit the towns and search crates.
