Befriending Villagers will take considerable time, which players shouldn’t rush, especially when learning more about their personalities and backstories. At a certain Friendship level, players will receive an option to “flirt” with them, which can be achieved by gifting a Box of Chocolates.

These yummy chocolate bites are pivotal when progressing with the Romance questline and increasing the Romance levels, but how does one find them? This guide outlines how players can get and use the Box of Chocolates and earn that Villager’s Pin in Palia.

How To Get The Box Of Chocolates In Palia?

The Box of Chocolates is a consumable item that can be utilized best as a gift to Villagers for the Romance mechanic in-game. This can only be achieved after reaching Friendship level 3 and higher, which can be done by talking to Villagers, completing their Friendship quests, and gifting them regular and Weekly Wants gifts.

These chocolates, along with the Heartdrop Lily, are the only items currently that can trigger the Romance questline with Villagers when given the option to flirt with them, guaranteed they’re eligible to be romanced. Unlike the Heartdrop Lily, the Box of Chocolates are extremely easy to find as they can be purchased in-game or received as rewards for completing various quests.

The chocolatey bites can be found at Zeki’s General Store and can be purchased for 200 gold each. Remember that certain Villagers cannot be romanced, including Ashura, Hekla, Kenli, Subira, and Tau; however, the developer has stated that they’re working on a possible Romance questline for Sifuu arriving in future patch updates.

How To Use The Box Of Chocolates In Palia?

Using the Box of Chocolates is relatively straightforward; however, as mentioned earlier, they must reach Friendship level 3 and higher with an eligible Villager. While speaking with that Villager, there will be the option to “Flirt with” them, and they can give them either the Heartdrop Lily or the Box of Chocolates.

This unlocks the Romance questline, where players will now have to increase their Romance levels with the Villager. Completing the quests will further those Romance levels, and gifting them a Heartdrop Lily or the Box of Chocolates will significantly boost them to receive more quests.

Once the Romance level is maxed out, they can earn a Villager’s Pin, where equipping them with the Character Profile menu will unlock unique dialogue with them daily. Players can equip two Villager’s Pins at any given time, and achieving this completes the What Brings Us Together Accomplishment for earning a Villager’s Pin.

Palia is currently available via the Epic Games Store and in Open Beta for PC, as players can install the game launcher detailed in this guide. The game is now available to download for Nintendo Switch as of 14th December 2023.
