The Bug Catching Skill will be mainly utilized when completing one of four new vault bundles unlocked at the end of a quest for the Temple of the Gales. The Fairywind bundle sees players equipping themselves with plenty of Smoke Bombs, their comprehensive knowledge of specific bugs, and their spawn rates in Kilima Village and Bahari Bay.

Completing this bundle requires time and patience, especially when trying to catch the Epic quality bugs due to their low spawn rate. Players who have their buzzing eyes on this specific bundle can learn more about it as we’ve detailed the vault bundle items needed to complete the Fairywind bundle in Palia.

How To Find All The Fairywind Bundle Items In Palia?

The Fairywind bundle is one of four vault bundles that unlock following the Eye of the Storm quest, and similar to the Pie in the Sky bundle, players will look to find four specific items to contribute. Unlike the aforementioned bundle, this primarily deals with specific bugs that can be caught in Kilima Village and Bahari Bay; guaranteed players meet the conditions they’ll spawn.

However, they’ll be challenging for players to catch as these bugs are of Rare and Epic quality and, thus, influence their catch rate. As for the bugs themselves, these are bugs needed to contribute towards the Fairywind bundle found within the Night Sky Temple in Palia:

  • Golden Glory Bee: This bug spawns once medium to large Sapwood trees are chopped down at Kilima Valley (from Gillyfin Cove to Whispering Banks) during the morning and day (between 3 am and 6 pm) in-game
  • Gossamer Veil Moth: This Rare quality bug appears in the evening and night (between 6 pm and 3 am) at Kilima Village, more specifically at Leafhopper Hills and Reflection Fields
  • Jewelwing Dragonfly: Head to the cliffs of Pavel Mines in Bahari Bay at any time of the day to catch the Jewelwing Dragonfly
  • Rainbow-tipped Butterfly: Travel to the open fields of Pavel Mines, Pulsewater Plains, and Hideaway Bluffs in Bahari Bay during the morning (between 3 am and 6 am) to spot this elusive bug.

As such, players are to have either Standard and Sticky Smoke Bombs for the rare quality bugs, while the Supreme Smoke Bombs are needed for the Epic quality bugs to ensure a 100% successful catch. The blueprint for the Sticky Smoke Bombs can be acquired from Auni’s Bug Catching Guild Store, and once all the bombs are crafted, they can set off to find the bugs required.

A strategy that players can utilize is to use a Honey Lure, which attracts bugs for a limited time before switching to the Sticky or Supreme Smoke Bombs to stun them and switch to Standard Smoke Bombs to catch them. We may advise using Supreme Smoke Bombs strictly for the Epic quality bugs, the Jewelwing Dragonfly and Rainbow-tipped Butterfly, to conserve their Standard Smoke Bombs and guarantee the catch.

Once players have caught the bugs mentioned above, they can navigate to the Night Sky Temple before adding them to the Fairywind bundle. Upon its completion, they’ll receive Bug Catching-related equipment, three Buzzy Jars, and a Honey Lure as rewards, which can be used in future Bug Catching adventures.

Palia is currently available via the Epic Games Store and in Open Beta for PC, as players can install the game launcher detailed in this guide. The game is now available to download for Nintendo Switch as of 14th December 2023.
