Pokémon GO Pansage - Best Moveset, Counters, And Weaknesses

Pansage is a small Grass-type Pokémon native to the Unova region, and along with Fire-type Pansear and Water-type Panpour, it is one of the three elemental monkeys. If you plan on getting your hands on one of them, then you'll need to know the best Pansage move sets, weaknesses, and counters in Pokemon Go.

So below we will be going through all the best tips and tricks that you need to know when raising your Pansage. Whether you need advice on its move set, what its weaknesses are, or if you need to know its more effective counters, we've got you covered.

First and foremost, if your goal is to collect only the strongest Pokémon to use in battle, then we don't fully recommend Pansage. You could more easily get an Eevee and Evolve it into a Leafeon.

The abilities of Pansage's second evolution form, Simisage, are nearly identical to those of Leafeon, except that all of Leafeon's characteristics are much higher. Furthermore, catching Eevee is far easier than catching Pansage and evolving it into Simisage.

But if your goal is to catch and train a Pansage and have it as a core member of your team, then our tips will help you tremendously. As Pansage is a solid Grass-type Pokemon with resistances/advantages to Ground, Water, Grass, and Electric-types.

If you don't already have a Pansage though, then consider checking out our full guide on how to get a Pansage, and once you do, head back to this article to get the best tips when training it.

Pokémon GO Pansage - Best Moveset

Pansage can have a maximum CP (Combat Power) of 956. This is a small amount, but it is enough to fight regular Team Rocket Go members or attack Gyms. Pansage also has several good moves that will help it defeat more powerful opponents. Pansage's best move sets in Pokemon Go are Vine Whip and Seed Bomb, which have an average DPS of 6.44.

Scratch and Seed Bomb, as well as Vine Whip and Energy Ball, have to average DPS of 6.23 and 6.20, respectively. You can also try out Low Sweep and KNock off as more tactical moves instead of raw power moves. If you need an extra boost of power to counteract Pansage's lower CP, you should use it in Sunny or Clear weather.

You should be aware of Pansage's weaknesses if you come across him in gyms or as an adversary in other battles. Pansage is a Grass-type Pokémon that can be easily damaged by attacks of the Flying, Poison, Bug, Fire, and Ice types.

These attacks give Pokémon you an advantage over Pansage and deal 160% more damage to Pansage. The following Pokemon will give you the best shot at putting Pansage down before it can do so to your Pokemon if you do run into it:

  • Darmanitan: Fire Fang, Overheat.
  • Moltres: Fire Spin, Sky Attack.
  • Darmanitan: Ice Fang, Avalanche.
  • Pheromosa: Bug Bite, Bug Buzz.
  • Chandelure: Fire Spin, Overheat.
  • Staraptor: Gust, Brave Bird.
  • Blaziken: Fire Spin, Blast Burn.

Pokémon GO Pansage - Weaknesses

As mentioned before, Pansage is weak to Flying, Poison, Bug, Fire, and Ice-type Pokemon and attacks, so always keep this in mind when your opponent sends one of these types into the field. Be sure to invest in moves that drain or knock down your opponents to give your Pansage a fair playing ground since it has low CP.

From here, focus on balancing out the weaknesses of Pansage with its move set and items that can buff its defenses, give it higher attack strength and give it some healing benefits.
