The legendary CS:GO pro has announced he is moving to Valorant but has yet to be picked up by a squad.
CSGO legend GeT_RiGhT left bemused after BBC call him "professional Valorant player"

Update: After weeks of teasing GeT_RiGhT has announced that he is moving full-time into content creation and not a career in Valorant, whatever the BBC tells you.

Original story:

Who says mainstream media and esports don't mix?

Well, lots of people, and those same people have further fuel after the BBC, the UK's public service broadcaster, introduced Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund as a "professional Valorant player" in an interview with the esport star. This despite the fact that he was part of one of the most legendary and longlasting CS:GO rosters ever, Ninja in Pyjamas. And while he has teased a move to Valorant the 30-year old has yet to sign for a team or play any official games.

The introduction clearly threw GeT_RiGht, speaking from his home in Stockholm, off as he squints his face and attempts to hide a sly grin, especially once she names him the "best player in the world".

The gaffe happened in an interview after a segment that took us around Dota 2's Johan "N0tail" Sundstein's 17-bedroom mansion in Lisbon, where viewers heard of the difficulties of being an esport star and how a shift to remote play during the pandemic had changed how he, and his team OG, prepared for and competed in tournaments.

We can't be too hard on the BBC, as we have stated GeT_RiGht has teased a move to Valorant in a highly produced video he tweeted just before the new year.

It is yet to be seen if his intentions are to actually compete. When he announced his exit from Dignitas, where he reunited with the core of that iconic Ninja in Pyjamas squad but without much success, he mentioned his "health condition" being one of the primary factors in his decision to go. Valorant's closed competitive calendar has been created with player's well-being in mind, something which can't be said about CSGO.

However, a sideways move to Dignitas' Valorant roster seems unlikely with the organisation currently fielding a North American roster.
