This season sadly didn't bring any significant changes to the SMG weapon class, although some received much-needed buffs that could salvage them from being trash-tier weapons.
Having said this, let's take a look at our SMG tier list for Season 8 of COD Mobile.
COD Mobile Season 8 SMG tier list
SMGs are reliable close-quarters weapons with a high rate of fire and mobility, however, they're not recommended when you're engaging at mid to long-range distance.
Description of the tiers
- S-Tier: The absolute best SMGs in COD: Mobile Season 8 which can melt the faces off opponents with ease.
- A-Tier: With a great loadout these Submachine Guns could go toe-to-toe against the S-Tier.
- B-Tier: These SMGs are very capable with a perfect loadout that fits your playstyle.
- C-Tier: This SMG tier absolutely requires you to use a perfect loadout. While these SMGs have some downsides, they can still work well.
- D-Tier: The trash tier. You would be much better off using one of the other SMGs in this list.
SMG tier list
There is a total of 15 SMGs in COD Mobile Season 8, it's time to rank them all.
As we've said, the current SMG meta hasn't changed moving into Season 7 and we believe that these three weapons maintain their spot at the top of the list. Each of the S-Tier weapons boasts high base stats, are versatile, and lethal in their own rights. These SMGs should be your go-to SMGs to use in COD Mobile Season 8.
- PP19 Bizon
After receiving a buff back in Season 7, the RUS-79U maintains its spot alongside the Bizon and Cordite as the runner-up SMGs this season. While they lack comparable impact and damage output to that of the S-tier SMGs, these can save you when you're in a tight spot.
B-tier weapons also remain unchanged this season, with these weapons lacking in several departments. Despite this, they can still be viable with the correct attachments. The Fennec's reign of terror is finally over and it looks unlikely to make a comeback anytime soon.
- AGR 556
Neither of these weapons is "trash tier" status, but they are pretty close. This present season saw both the PDW and HG40 receive slight buffs, however, the damage output has not changed much. As a result, it doesn't strike us as worth putting these weapons above C-tier, for now.
Last season the Chicom and GKS missed out on the prestigious trash tier, however, with buffs to the aforementioned weapons, Season 8 has finally found both of these weapons sharing the spot for worst SMGs in the game.
