CSGO Competitive Skill Group Missing Or Changed?

In the early hours of the morning on 2nd August (UTC), Valve unleashed a brand-new CS:GO update with matchmaking changes. While these changes generally go unnoticed as they are quite small, the latest update affects all players and their Competitive Skill Groups in CS:GO.

CS:GO Competitive Skill Group Changed

The latest CS:GO update focuses on matchmaking, meaning Competitive Skill Groups undergo some recalibration.

Therefore, there is no need to panic if your Competitive Skill Group in CS:GO has changed since 2nd August 2022 at roughly 01:30 UTC.

Valve states: "Typically when we ship changes to CS:GO’s matchmaking system, the adjustments are small enough that we don’t include them in our release notes. However, today’s update affects all CS:GO players so it requires some explanation."

Most players will notice a change in their CS:GO Competitive Skill Group, as they might place lower or higher following the update. However, some will not see any changes, as they were already in the right place, to begin with.

Again, no need to panic. Remember, this affects ALL PLAYERS and not just you.

How to get CS:GO Competitive Skill Group Back

Once you launch CS:GO for the first time following the 2nd August 2022 update, you will not see your Competitive Skill Group displayed on your profile.

Don't panic! Since CS:GO Competitive Skill Groups underwent some recalibration, players will have to win one match to get it back, revealing their Skill Group on their profile.

To be clear, you must win to reveal your CS:GO Competitive Skill Group. Therefore, it could take one, two, or ten matches, depending on how quickly you win a match.
