FIFA 22: Top 100 player ratings predictions

We've gone ahead and try to predict who the 100 best FIFA 22 players will be when the game launches.
FIFA 22: Top 100 player ratings predictions

The waiting period before the release of a new FIFA entry is arguably just as exciting as getting your hands on the game for the first time, and this is no exception with FIFA 22.

Of course, on top of seeing what new features EA Sports cooked up to spice the yearly franchise, the biggest appeal of a new FIFA are always the updated team squads and player ratings.

This summer transfer window gave us some high-profile moves including Jack Grealish signing with Manchester City, Lionel Messi leaving Barcelona for PSG, Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho to Manchester United, and many more.

On top of this, having two important international tournaments like the Euros and Copa America could also influence player ratings moving forward into FIFA 22.

FIFA 22 - Top 100 player ratings

With all the aforementioned in mind, let's take a look at what, in our opinion, could potentially be the best 100 players entering FIFA 22.

1. Lionel Messi - PSG, rating: 93

Despite a lacklustre season with Barcelona in terms of silverware, Messi still managed to score 38 goals across all competitions, furthermore, he finally helped Argentina secure its first major trophy since 1993 -- The Copa América.

It's hard to dispute Messi could potentially be past his prime, but he's still the best.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo - Manchester United, rating: 92

When Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid, football fans assumed his time in the limelight was all but over, oh little did they knew...

With over 100 goals and four major honours during his time in Serie A, the Portuguese goalscoring machine has returned "home" by signing with Manchester United, in what could very well be his last great crusade before retirement.

3. Kevin De Bruyne - Manchester City, rating: 92

Manchester City dominance over the Premier League has only been rivalled by Liverpool, winning three of the last four league titles, with Belgium's own Kevin De Bruyne functioning as the crown jewel of Guardiola's well-oiled machined.

His fantastic 20-21 season could've been even better, with City ending runner-ups in the Champions League, a feat that perhaps could've propelled the CAM to have an even better rating than Messi and Ronaldo.

4. Jan Oblak - Atlético Madrid, rating: 92

An argument can be made for Man City's Ederson after his fantastic last season to take the spot as FIFA 22's best-rated GK, edging Alisson Becker as Brazil's number one, however, Oblak's consistency and spectacularity, plus securing LaLiga, makes him our top goalkeeping pick.

5. Robert Lewandowski - Bayern Munich, rating: 91

The Polish goalscoring machine had a fantastic season last year with 48 goals and a Bundesliga title securing him a spot amongst the best-rated players in FIFA 22.

6. Neymar - PSG, rating: 91

Controversial yet extremely talented, Neymar continues to dominate Ligue 1, even if PSG has failed countless times in its efforts to conquer Europe.

Still, with 17 goals and 8 assists in a season plagued by injuries, Neymar's influence can be felt both when he's on the pitch, and especially when he's absent, as PSG ended up dropping the league title against Lille.

7. Kylian Mbappé - PSG, rating: 91

The French striker has been in scintillating form for PSG, netting a personal record of 42 goals across all competitions last year, however, he failed in his quest to help the Parisian side secure the Ligue 1 title.

Nothing can be taken away from him on an individual level, but the lack of silverware will make sure he's not the best in the game.

8. Ngolo Kanté - Chelsea, rating: 90

The Chelsea CDM started FIFA 21 with a respectable 88 rating, however, we feel he's at least going to hit 90, if not more, after a massively successful season, in which he helped Chelsea win the Champions League title, forming a strong partnership with Jorginho.

In contention for being named one of the best players in 2021, N'Golo Kanté can become one of the best in FIFA 22.

9. Mohamed Salah - Liverpool, rating: 90

We expect a lot of Liverpool players to drop in rating considerably after a disappointing 20-21 season, all but one, Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian King continues to prove that he's far from a one-season wonder, by netting 31 goals in all competitions, his second-best season since arriving at Merseyside.

10. Bruno Fernandes - Manchester United, rating: 90

Bruno Fernandes improvements this past season are remarkable, netting 28 goals during the year, securing a Champions League spot for Manchester United and making a fantastic run in the Europa League, ending runner-ups.

With the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, it can only get better for the Portuguese CAM.

11. Virgil van Dijk - Liverpool, rating: 89

While he didn't dip in form, Van Dijk's lengthy injury means he'll still be punished with a slight drop in rating, especially since he missed virtually all of the 20-21 season.

Make no mistake, however, as the Liverpool centre-back has come back firing on all cylinders with some performances that make it seem like he never left.

12. Ruben Días - Manchester City, rating: 89

In Van Dijk's absence, Rúben Dias has risen as the Premier League's top centre-back, dominating the League with his power, great technique, and awareness.

Only 24-years-old, the Portuguese defender is only getting started.

13. Romelu Lukaku - Chelsea, rating: 89

After his lukewarm tenure with Manchester United and Chelsea, Lukaku went on and dominated Serie A, leading Inter Milan to a title with his 30 goals last season.

Now completely revitalised and at the peak of his career, he's gone back to Chelsea to settle the score.

14. Ederson - Manchester City, rating: 89

Ederson is one of the best goalkeepers in world football, fitting perfectly into Guardiola's system where goalkeepers are expected to be as adept with their feet as they are with their hands.

15. Jorginho - Chelsea, rating: 88

Following his splendid season, there is no way Jorginho doesn't get close to the 90s, a big jump from his initial 83 rating in FIFA 21.

The Italian CDM was a dominant force for Chelsea, winning the Champions League, following up that form with another major honour -- winning the Euros with Italy, eventually named the best player in Europe for his efforts.
