How to throw a bullet pass in Madden 22

Put some speed on the ball in Madden 22.
How to throw a bullet pass in Madden 22

There are certain situations in Madden 22 that call for a different type of throw or catch.

From receivers needing to be more aggressive with their catch to the quarterback throwing it low to avoid any defenders, Madden offers a huge variety of situational options. One of the most overlooked options, though, is the bullet pass. Players sometimes forget they can put some spin on the ball and get it into their receiver’s hands before the defence knows what hit them.

Of course, some players simply might not know how to throw a bullet pass in Madden 22. This guide will aim to fix that.

For you to throw a bullet pass, you need to first call a passing play. This play can be anything that involves receivers or running backs but it should be something that features short routes. You can call the play in the huddle or use audible hot routes to make your receivers run quicker routes.

Once your play is called and hiked, you can look for receivers to throw to. The receiver you hone in on should be running across the field, stopped in a spot or coming back along the sideline. Longer throws like a post or seam don’t really work with bullet passes. To throw a bullet pass, follow the button commands below:

  • For Xbox and PlayStation: Hold the receiver’s button

For the bullet pass to work, you need to ensure that you’re holding the button for as long as possible, otherwise, it might come out as a touch pass.

The best time to use a bullet pass is when your receiver has lost his defender for a brief moment or a defender is lurking nearby. The bullet pass allows your quarterback to get the ball to the receiver quickly enough to avoid it being picked off.

However, this comes with some risks, as the bullet passes are tougher to catch. They should only be used situationally when you need to pick up some needed yardage to a receiver that’s somewhat close to you.
