Warzone Tactical Rifle tier list - every tac. rifle ranked from best to worst for Season 3

Since Tactical Rifles entered Warzone with the integration of the Black Ops Cold War arsenal, they have held an esteemed place within the meta, with both the M16 and AUG CW both being viable weapons.

That looks set to change though, as both guns were subject to nerfs at the outset of Warzone Season 3 with their rates of fire and neck damage multiplier reduced, as well as reducing the positive effects of various attachments.

Description of the tiers

We have opted for a standard five-tier system, S to D.

S-Tier: The absolute best Tactical Rifle in Warzone.

A-Tier: With the right loadout this Tactical Rifle can mix it with the best.

B-Tier: Don't sleep on these weapons but don't expect them to slay out with the best.

C-Tier: Playstyle dependent. Though if you like using one of these you gotta ask yourself why you ain't picking one up higher not the list.

D-Tier: Would be better to take some harsh words with you than rock one of these.

It is important to note tier lists are not an exact science. However, this list does give you a good idea of the power rankings when it comes to Tactical Rifles in Warzone Season 3.

Note: They are currently only four tactical rifles in Warzone but more likely to be added and we will update this page as they are.

S-Tier

• M16
• CARV.2

It's a changing of the guard when it comes to Tactical Rifles in Warzone. Previously the M16 was classed A-Tier, while the AUG was S-Tier, but the aforementioned nerfs have hit the AUG harder and for that reason, the M16 has overtaken it.

A-Tier

• AUG (Tactical Rifle Charlie)

At one point this gun was an absolute meta pick but that is no longer with nerfs to both its base stats and some of its most popular attachments robbing it of its high RPM, 'SMG like', loadouts.

B-Tier

• DMR 14

A true Tactical Rifle and for that reason, it will always struggle to make an impact in Verdansk. There are simply too many other weapons that can do what this gun offers better. Medium range? A well-tuned Assault Rifle is far better. Long-range? A proper Sniper Rifle wipes the floor with this.

C-Tier

• (N/A)

D-Tier

• Type 63

A similar problem to the DMR but even more pronounced. The Type 63 is an old school carbine with a particular emphasis on old school. Best left in the past.
