Dark Frosting is a new ingredient for 2021's The Dawning.
How to get Dark Frosting in Destiny 2

Destiny 2's The Dawning event is back, bringing new weapons, ships, and more cosmetics to chase as players get in the Holiday spirit.

As always, you'll be tasked with spreading joy across the galaxy, baking goods and getting rewarded for your efforts.

Acquiring ingredients to use Eva Levante's special oven is a rather simple, but time-consuming chore if you don't know what you're after, especially since Bungie has decided to add new components into the mix.

One of the new ingredients is Dark Frosting, required for special recipes, including the one needed to bake Ada-1's treat. So how do you go about finding it?

Dark Frosting, as the name might imply, will make sure you put your Stasis subclass and weapons to good use, as final blows dealt by the darkness shrouded power will net you the ingredient.

Now, this can be done with both abilities and most importantly, weapons. Destiny 2 doesn't have a lot of Stasis based weaponry, however, Season of the Lost added its fair share of them, either Legendary or Exotic.

Some of these include the Cryosthesia 77k, Ager's Scepter, Vulpecula, and Reed's Regret, to name a few.

A tip for you is to pair these Stasis final blows with other requirements. Try getting Taken kills so you farm some Taken Butter or go for Hive if you're also interested in getting Chitin Powder.

Altar of Sorrow on the Moon, checking out Dreaming City Lost Sectors or The Blind Well, or going for some Cabal on the European Dead Zone are good places to try and get two birds with one stone during the event.
