Elden Ring Royal Knight Loretta boss guide - How to beat and location
Elden Ring is an incredibly challenging action RPG that features many boss battles. Indeed, these have always been a standout affair in Souls-like games, and Elden Ring is no different.

From main bosses like Godrick the Grafted to optional bosses in legacy dungeons, there are plenty of battles to keep you busy for a long time. One such optional boss is Royal Knight Loretta, who you encounter in the Academy of Laya Rucaria.

While not the most challenging brawl in the game, Royal Knight Loretta can still be a nuisance, and, as such, here's our guide on where to find and how to beat it.

Where to find Royal Knight Loretta in Elden Ring?

The description of the Royal Knight Loretta reads, "The eternal guardian of Caria Manor fervently defends her domain atop the Royal Moongazing Grounds. Loretta uses her Greatbow to rain destruction on all who would dare approach the estate grounds."

Followingly, it should be no surprise that you can find her in the Caria Manor region in northern Liurnia of the Lakes, located at Raya Lucaria Academy. The closest Site of Grace is the Manor Upper Level.

Given how the entirety of Academy is swarming with enemies that wield magic abilities, it's also no surprise that the Royal Knight Loretta do too. Magic based characters benefit the most from this battle, and thankfully, the Royal Knight Loretta take some massive spells and incantations damage.

To make this battle even easier, we recommend using Spirit Ashes. We summoned the Lone Wolf Ashes, and it was good enough to distract it while we repeatedly conjured spells and did some massive damage.

We recommend using the Rock Sling spell, which could be your go-to spell for most boss battles in Elden Ring. There are mainly two attacks that you must avoid at all costs as they would either deplete most of your health or downright kill you.

The first one is where it throws a bunch of magical swords towards you. These are easy to dodge, but you must time them correctly. The second one is the most dangerous in which it uses its magical Greatbow to shoot arrows that could kill you in one shot.

The safest strategy is to let your Spirit Ashes distract Royal Knight Loretta while you spam your Rock Sling spell. Doing this should take it out in just 7-8 tries. However, if it fails, there's one other risky yet rewarding way to take it out.

On the left-hand side of the arena, you will notice a staircase leading to a statue. This is an excellent spot to hide from its arrows and deal magic damage from a safe distance.

However, the downside of this is that the Royal Knight Loretta keeps teleporting back and forth in the area, meaning it could suddenly pop behind you and deal with a devastating melee attack from its magical spear. Hence, you must be cautious while trying to take it out from this distance.

Defeating the Royal Knight Loretta will reward you with Loretta's Greatbow spell, the same spell that could take you out in one hit. To wield this spell, you must have 26 Intelligence.

That concludes our guide on how to beat Royal Knight Loretta easily. Make sure to check our dedicated Elden Ring section for more news, guides, and features.
