The v0.172 patch update added plenty of new quests for players to complete, which can be received from Rummage Piles or discovering hidden items throughout the world. Of the latter, the Masks quest can be triggered by finding a rather ominous item on their Housing plot, where they’re advised to speak with Jina.

Knowledgeable in Ancient studies, this quest sends players across Kilima Village, locating unique items to learn more about the history behind them. Mask and they shall be received as we’ve detailed all quest objectives and locations of the masks to complete the Masks quest in Palia.

Palia Masks Quest Objectives List

The Masks quest is one of a handful that was added to Palia in the v0.712 patch update, which players can discover when tilling soil on their Housing plot. Before we divulge how players can complete this quest, a few key details factor into how they can acquire and complete this Found Quest, which may prevent any progress made.

First, they are to have reached Friendship Level 3 with Jina and obtained the Ancient Library Key from Jina as a Friendship reward. This key accesses the Ancient Library in the Mirror Pond Ruins, which is part of completing this quest; however, if players have yet to receive it, they won’t receive it due to not reaching Friendship Level 3 with her.

1. Talk to Jina about the mask you found
2. Bring Jina the mask
3. Bring Jina another mask
4. Find another mask

Lastly, there may be a bug regarding this quest, as players have reported obtaining one of the masks inside the Water Temple. As such, players can attempt to exit the game and reload it for the item to appear in their inventory, which will help them complete the quest.

How To Complete The Masks Quest In Palia?

The Masks quest, as previously mentioned, is a Found Quest, which begins by finding a Bird Mask when tilling soil on their Housing plot. After speaking with Jina, she tasks players with finding the remaining masks, which, using the clues provided, are located near Ancient Ruins in Kilima Village and akin to the Whale of a Tale quest; this will take time to complete.

There are four remaining masks to find, which can be found at the following locations and which mask they’ll discover:

• Humanoid Mask: This mask can be found inside the Water Temple at Phoenix Falls by the staircase, the area of the Ancient Battery quest
• Insect Mask: Head to the ruins found west of the Whispering Banks Fast Travel Board
• Lizard Mask: Locate the ruins northwest of Remembrance Garden to find the Lizard Mask
• Kitsuu Mask: This specific mask is located east of the ruins at Mirror Pond Ruins near the staircase

After finding each mask, return to Jina to receive dialogue for each mask found before setting off to find the next one. With all masks found, head back to Jina, who can be found either at the Mirror Pond Ruins or the village Library at night, where she asks them to head inside the Ancient Library at the Mirror Pond Ruins to find the meaning behind the masks.

The book in question is found inside by heading down the main chamber and turning right down the corridor. Run into the room after making the first right turn and look for a bookshelf to their right where the book can be found and read it before finding Jina again.

To complete this quest, speak with her one final time, and they’ll inform her about the meaning behind the masks. Completing this quest will award players a new furnishing item, the Ancient Pottery item, which can be placed within their homes.
