Moving into Kilima Village has been an exciting yet overwhelming experience, but thankfully, help is always around the corner or on their Housing Plot. Having settled into their new surrounding, it's time to learn about a few Majiri customs, one being gift-giving in the Happy Housewarming quest.
After being welcomed into the village by many Villagers, players set out to thank them personally with a housewarming gift. They can learn about this auspicious custom of gift-giving being guided by the objectives to assist in completing the Happy Housewarming quest for Palia.
Palia Happy Housewarming Quest Objectives List
Happy Housewarming is a Main Quest entry players can receive from the mayor, Kenli, after completing the previous quest, House, Sweet House. This quest introduces another game mechanic, the Gifting system, in which they'll receive a breakdown of how gifting is important to Majiri customs as it establishes new friendships.
As it's customary for new Villagers moving into Kilima Village to bestow gifts to their neighbors, Kenli encourages players to continue this tradition. Let's welcome ourselves to the Kilima Village community by following these objectives below on how to complete the Happy Housewarming quest in Palia:
- Give five gifts to Villagers
- Return to Kenli
How To Complete The Happy Housewarming Quest In Palia?
As mentioned previously, Happy Housewarming is the following quest players can receive after completing the House, Sweet House quest once they've successfully placed a Sawmill and Smelter onto their Housing Plot. The village's mayor, Kenli, will make a surprise visit where he explains one important custom in Majiri culture: gift-giving.
Being new to Kilima Village, it's a tradition that new Villagers present their neighbors with gifts for their housewarming and forge new relations. Kenli suggests going around the village, introducing themselves, and gifting any five Villagers a gift, which should warm up Eshe's stern demeanor.
To gift a Villager a gift, they should interact with them, where they will get dialogue options, but in the bottom left corner is a Gift Box icon. They can also click the Gift Box with a question mark icon where they can inquire a Villager to find out what gift they like or what another Villager may like for that given week.
Clicking the Gift Box icon will open a pop-up window where they can gift a Villager an item from their Backpack Inventory by selecting the item. They will then have successfully gifted a Villager, and they can proceed to repeat the process of gifting four more Villagers to meet the quest objective.
After gifting five Villagers in Kilima Village, they can find Kenli in the village where he can be located at City Hall during the day and at Ormuu's Horn Inn in the evening. After informing him that they have gifted Villagers with gifts, this will complete the quest, and they can receive 15 Renown and one Grilled Oyster as quest rewards before moving on to the next Main Quest.
Palia is currently available via the Epic Games Store and in Open Beta for PC, as players can install the game launcher detailed in this guide. The game is now available to download for Nintendo Switch as of 14th December 2023.
