The biomes in Palia are diverse, with a range of aquatic and terrestrial zones that are home to some of the most unique species in-game. These species range from distinct flora, fauna, marine life, and the vast creatures that can be acquired using one of the many Skills present, like Fishing, Foraging, and Mining.
Fishing is one of the many Skills players have come to enjoy during their downtime or when completing quests and Accomplishments; however, one fish species has continued to elude them. For avid anglers who want to learn about the Midnight Paddlefish, we’ve detailed in this guide how to get and use this rare fish in Palia.
How To Get The Midnight Paddlefish In Palia?
The Midnight Paddlefish is a type of fish players can encounter during their adventures in Kilima Villager when visiting local fishing spots. This specific fish is a Rare fish that can be found only at Kilima Lake, the biome that stretches from Gillyfin Cove on the western side to the end of Fisherman’s Lagoon on the east.
The Midnight Paddlefish is noted for its deep purple skin color and its long, flat, pointed bill, resembling that of a Swordfish in real life. Due to this, however, it makes it more challenging to find or fish for the Midnight Paddlefish in part due to its appearance and rarity, and as such, players will likely need to have a high Fishing skill level for it to be accessible.
As such, if avid anglers are looking to add yet another accomplishment, this fish can be caught only during the nighttime hours between 9 pm and 3 am. Likewise, if you’re at one of the fishing spots at Kilima Lake at night, come prepared and bring Glow Worms to stand a chance of catching this elusive fish.
How To Use The Midnight Paddlefish In Palia?
As of writing, this fish is not listed as a gifted item for any Villagers in Kilima Village or Bahari Bay, but it’s possible that it may be with a new Villager coming to Palia. Additionally, this fish isn’t used for the existing Vault bundles, but as mentioned before, it may change with a new Vault arriving in a future patch update.
Nevertheless, this fish is a quest objective for the Caleri Friendship quest, which is given to players by Elouisa. This quest unlocks once they reach Friendship Level 4, where they must cheer up Caleri by acquiring items, including the Midnight Paddlefish, in the hopes of triggering a memory of her past to lift her spirits and mood.
Palia is currently available via the Epic Games Store and in Open Beta for PC, as players can install the game launcher detailed in this guide. The game is now available to download for Nintendo Switch as of 14th December 2023.
