Morian the Stormwing Matriarch in V Rising is located in the Harpy Nest of Silverlight Hills. This area is situated near the southern part of the region, lying slightly to the west after crossing the bridge after the Army Outpost near the south entrance to the region. Upon entering the Harpy Nest, you must battle many Harpies guarding the nest's entrance.

Defeat all the surrounding Harpies so they don't interfere in your fight, and make your way to Morian's nest on the easternmost rock face. You'll find two Harpy Warriors protecting her, so beware. Note that another Harpy Nest is located in the northern part of Silverlight Hills; however, Morian the Stormwing Matriarch will not be there.

V Rising: How To Beat Morian The Stormwing Matriarch

Morian the Stormwing Matriarch is a Level 70 Blood Carrier in V Rising, in which case a Gear Score of 65+ is recommended when challenging her. A Reaper or Sword build is the best option because Morian's high mobility will make it hard to land ranged blows. In addition, we advise using Brute or Scholar Blood Types of 40% Blood Quality or higher. While Brute Blood has many merits, the 7.5%-12.5% primary attack Life Leech you get is especially vital for your survival, particularly when Morian summons other Harpies to the fight.

On the other hand, Scholar Blood will allow you to unleash your spells with 12%-25% more damage and a 20% chance to reset the cooldown entirely, allowing for double casts to burst through her and her summons faster. This Blood Type also offers an 8%-15% reduced cooldown on spells and a 5-10% to Spell Life Leech, possibly prolonging the fight long enough to take her down. If you have 100% Blood Type, these buffs are boosted by 30%.

Morian the Stormwing Matriarch in V Rising will start the fight alongside her two Harpy Warriors with some basic melee attacks and the spell "Void." This spell is relatively easy to dodge. A ring will appear on the ground, followed by an explosion that deals damage after a brief moment. If caught in the AOE, you will also be dealt the Ignite debuff, taking burn damage over time. The primary strategy at the beginning is not to get caught out, dodging attacks and Void blasts. Where necessary, use your Travel Ability to evade charge attacks or ambushes.

Travel Abilities

Veil of Illusion (unlocked by killing Maja the Dark Savant) will allow you to evade Morian's attacks and recast the ability to return to your starting position, summoning an illusion that shoots projectile attacks. Your next primary attack (as well as any attacks dealt by the illusion) also inflicts Weaken and applies a stack of Phantasm to the caster. On the other hand, Veil of Blood will allow you to heal 5% of your max health, coupling well with the Brute Blood. It also applies the Leech debuff to leech enemies' life force for 5s.

Offensive Abilities

It is best to use fast-casting spells that are easy to land and deal tremendous damage since Morian the Stormwing Matriarch moves around quickly. Frost Bat is great here as it comes with two charges with a short cast time, so you can be sure to land your attack on the Harpy Queen. Frost Bat can also slow and freeze the small Harpies, making the fight slightly easier as you have to contend with fewer enemies concurrently.

Alternatively, Chaos Volley might be preferred because it does slightly more (i.e., +10%) damage and inflicts Ignite on those it hits, dealing burn damage over time. It also lets you fire two projectile attacks, making it great for pure damage purposes. You can start the fight by storming Morian with your spells while she is in a state of rest. Then, back up and dodge her initial spells before she dives into melee combat.

Morian's Moveset

Surviving the first few stages against Morian the Stormwing Matriarch in V Rising is relatively easy, requiring you to dodge the Void attacks, evade, and then kill the small Harpies whenever possible. However, the real challenge comes in the final phase of the battle, which sees Morian begin to spin and release many spinning projectiles across the arena. Morian the Stormwing Matriarch will also move toward the player at great speed, discharging these projectiles.

Her allies will also dive-bomb you and launch ranged attacks at you. The damage output in this phase is severe, making it exceptionally hard to survive, especially when up close. That said, you must attempt to create as much distance as possible. Once Morian stops spinning, hit her with all your abilities. Crimson Beam (unlocked from Raziel the Shepherd) is recommended here, as it will heal you the more units it hits, so her Harpy allies will serve well to restore your health.
