How To Defeat The UFO In Warzone Operation Nightmare

Call of Duty has finally hit us with a spooky update; The Haunting, where players are forced to face their deepest fears on the battlegrounds of Warzone and Multiplayer. Unfortunately, players have found another foe to defeat within Warzone's Operation Nightmare, tasking players confronting a UFO hovering above Al Mazrah.

Within this guide we will teach you how to become Call of Duty's top UFO hunter, providing you with the skills needed to destroy this extraterrestrial threat.

Where Is The UFO In Warzone? Operation Nightmare Location

The UFO is always found hovering southeast of Sawah Village, typically spawning in the most southeastern point of this part of the island. It's not particularly hard to miss the glowing blue lights in the sky, especially considering the map is currently dark. Thankfully, this is the only spawn location for the UFO.

The UFO icon should be available and visible on all team maps. If the icon has disappeared it means another team has already defeated or engaged the UFO. Teams that engage the UFO typically make an abundance of noise, meaning they won't be a difficult bunch to track down and destroy if need be. If the UFO has disappeared, perhaps wait for it to respawn or head to another boss fight to make the most out of the match. 

Ensure no enemy operators are around the location or are engaging the UFO from a different location. To check if enemies are already engaging the UFO, stop shooting and look for red tracers hitting the UFO from a different direction. It's probably best you combat whoever is in the area before progressing onto the next steps. 

How To Destroy The UFO In Warzone Operation Nightmare 

Warzone UFO Phase 1

The UFO has three phases; one blue orb, three blue orbs, and then destroying the UFO once and for all. The first phase is the easiest. The blue orb simply hovers above the ocean where it spawned and lets you shoot it until you progress onto the second phase. This will use up a significant amount of ammo; take it in turns to fire at the blue orb to save ammunition and equipment — you're going to need it. 

Warzone UFO Phase 2

After damaging the blue orb enough, the single blue orb will split into three orbs. The ocean below will part and you're expected to jump right into the arena. The three orbs will now be lethal and will begin shooting at you. The orbs will be agile and attempt to escape your fire, but keep shooting.

The orbs are strong and will damage players relatively quickly, therefore, we strongly recommend players take cover whilst receiving fire from the orbs. To take out the orbs effectively, we recommend that someone uses an RPG, and every player obtains a sniper rifle or DMR.

Warzone UFO Phase 3

Once players have managed to destroy all three blue orbs, the UFO will spawn above the sunken cargo ship. This phase isn't as difficult as defeating the three orbs. However, if the UFO specifically targets you, don't hesitate to slide into cover and take a rest to prevent being downed. 

Players should stick to using their RPGs, DMRs, and sniper rifles to defeat the UFO quickly. Using assault rifles takes a significant amount of ammo and patience, additionally, you'll be attracting enemy players. To deal the most damage to the UFO, shoot it in the center light as much as possible.

How To Defeat The UFO In Warzone Operation Nightmare

Once players have successfully defeated the UFO, it will drop two relics on the floor. To fully "complete" the task of defeating the UFO, pick up the relics and secure them in the prompted location. The relics will be prompted on your screen and are worth in-game currency.

Other players may camp at the UFO spawn location, letting other teams defeat the UFO only to attempt to wipe you out and take the relics. It's important that throughout the boss fight a singular player scouts the location to ensure it's clear, or bring a UAV along and pop it before the relics are dropped by the UFO.
