Updated at 07:40 AM UK Time: The foam pit where Adriana Chechik broke her back was a promotional activity run by Intel and Lenovo; it has since been closed down.
TwitchCon San Diego concluded on 9th October this weekend and was among the most anticipated annual streaming events in the U.S. While fans flocked to the San Diego Convention Center to meet their favorite Twitch creators, it didn't bode well for some who were attending.
In a Twitter post, Twitch superstar and former adult actress Adriana Chechik revealed that she sustained a horrific injury during one of the activities at TwitchCon. Accordingly, Adriana wrote to her fans, explaining that she broke her back in two places after jumping into a foam pit.

On 10th October 2022, Adriana Chechik wrote back, claiming that "multiple" other TwitchCon attendees also injured themselves. "They open[ed] the pit up a second day after the 1st person injured their foot and ankle bad[ly] enough to leave #TwitchCon in a brace."
Why did @LenovoLegion say here, you can dive in? They open the pit up a second day after the 1st person injured their foot and ankle bad enough to leave #twitchcon in a brace. Multiple ppl wer injured and they kept the pit open, said jump in booty first! https://t.co/9JaQnsiq7n

At this time, it's not clear exactly how Adriana broke her back; however, users online suggest that the foam pit, a promotional collaboration between Intel and Lenovo, which should have prevented such an injury, was not deep enough.

Reddit user 1plus2break wrote, "The ball pit at Chuck E Cheese has more cushion than that pit. Is it really hard to actually put a layer of foam on the ground instead of just a shitty layer of cubes?" Other users on Reddit blamed Twitch for allegedly ignoring safety protocol, claiming that the "pit was essentially unsafe and unfit for purpose."

At the time of writing, neither Twitch nor the TwitchCon convention organizers have issued a public statement. It is also unclear whether Adriana Chechik's injury resulted from mere negligence or if it was simply an unfortunate accident. We will endeavor to update this article once more information is known.
On behalf of GINX, we hope Adriana Chechik's surgery is a success and that she makes a speedy recovery!
