Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa has been dubbed the “queen of the hot tub meta” and has recently been in the spotlight for her ASMR mic licking stint with Jenelle “Indiefoxx” Dagres. Despite the controversy around the provocative and sexually suggestive nature of her streams, her fame on Twitch has skyrocketed, yielding her over 3.5 million followers on Twitch with over 18,000 active subs to date.
Amouranth has also recently spoken out, calling out fellow streamer and former Overwatch pro, Felix “xQc” Lengyel, for benefitting from the hot tub community outcry, accusing him of trying to divert attention away from his own Twitch gambling drama. Here is what Amouranth and the community had to say.
Amouranth claims xQc benefitted from gamba controversy
Amouranth tweeted that the reason xQc enjoyed “ripping on hot tubs” was to draw attention away from his own gambling stream drama, adding that she “took one for the team” by referencing throwing stones in a glasshouse.
The reason Xqc liked ripping on hot tubs was because it took attention away from the gamba stuff 😂

I took one for the team
You know glass houses and such
She later added in a comment, “imagine trading places-like episode where I’m doing slots and he’s in a tub”, suggesting that she may get involved in gambling streams too. A fan then commented that they were surprised “no one has gambled while in a hot tub”, to which Amouranth replied: “hey, that’s top secret meta”.
Mizkiff also commented, citing: “you made this tweet because he’s the 2nd most clipped person [LiveStreamFails] so his viewers will post it there to push your 2nd account. You deserve all your success.”
Other fans have since spoken out to indicate that both hot tub and gambling streams should be rated 18+, arguing that neither belongs on the streaming platform. On the other hand, other fans believe that they have been around “for a long time” and that both only became relevant when [they] became “problematic”.
Personal commentary on Amouranth’s claim
Personally, I don’t believe that xQc had an ulterior motive for speaking out about the hot tub meta since it’s not like he is in any desperate need for more views or subs. In fact, despite the gambling stream drama, his views never dropped significantly given that his entire channel is built around his own personality. Considering the randomness of xQc’s content, it would also appear as though he doesn’t even need a “meta” to begin with.
Amouranth has previously spoken out around the “enormous irony” around ASMR licking critics, citing that “popular narratives and finger-pointing flows like water - the path of least resistance”, so it’s ironic that she’s doing just that right now.
It’s also clear that xQc was against the hot tub meta, as were many other streamers who believe that hot tub and ASMR licking streams sexualized the platform, including Pokimane and CodeMiko. It would therefore seem that the only streamers not criticizing the provocative nature of the category are the streamers in that same category themselves.
