Pokimane reveals the exact moment she realised Twitch streaming could be a career

Imane “Pokimane” Anys is one of the biggest Twitch streamers out there. In June 2020, she hit the 5 million followers milestone, and she now sits at just over 5.3 million. Now, the famous Twitch streamer has revealed the exact moment when she realized Twitch streaming could be a full-time career. 

Pokimane reveals a career-defining moment

Speaking to YouTuber Graham Stephan, Pokimane revealed the exact moment when she knew Twitch streaming could be a full-time job, and not just a way to earn some extra cash on the side.

When Graham Stephan asked Pokimane when she realised Twitch streaming could be a business, the famous streamer replied: "I remember the exact moment. I was in second-year university, and up until then I had been streaming part-time kinda like part-time and I was studying chemical engineering.

"Then, it got to a point in one month, I made like $10,000+ in just brand deals. 'Once that happened, I was like, oh okay, this could actually be a job.'"

While we don't know exactly how much Pokimane makes from her Twitch streaming in a month, she did reveal her mindset about streaming and income.

Even before she became a Twitch star, Pokimane believed in one simple rule for her career: "My mindset has never changed from when I was in high school to where I am now in terms of ‘I feel like if I can make $100k in a year, then you’re set.'”

Pokimane further explained how even though community donations were a great source of income, she needed a more reliable structure to commit to streaming full time. With brand deals, Pokimane reveals her streaming career really took off.
