Pokimane Won't Fight Corinna Kopf In The Ring For Two Reasons

Twitch superstar Imane "Pokimane" Anys says she won't fight Corinna Kopf despite historic beef over the platform's gambling drama.
Pokimane Won't Fight Corinna Kopf In The Ring For Two Reasons

On 17 November 2022, popular Twitch streamer Imane "Pokimane" Anys opened up about why she won't fight fellow internet star Corinna Kopf during a recent Banter Podcast with YouTubers Karl Jacobs, GeorgeNotFound, and Sapnap. For context, On 21 September 2022, Corinna and Pokimane engaged in a brief back-and-forth after Corinna commented on Poki's supposed double standards on the then-trending Twitch gambling issue.

In particular, Corinna tweeted that Pokimane should "probably delete" her 2021 Room Tour and Gaming Setup video on YouTube, insinuating that it "promotes gambling" after slots games could be seen in the background. Following this comment, Pokimane hit back at Corinna Kopf by offering her a job, saying, "Now that you've lost your job promoting illegal crypto gambling websites, would you like to join my YouTube editing team?"

While the tension eventually faded, it sparked enough online discussion at the time to warrant the Banter Boys bringing it up during the podcast. When asked if she would ever fight Corinna Kopf in a boxing match, Pokimane replied, "to be honest, no," providing two reasons why she wouldn't do it.

"If I'm going to fight someone, I need a good reason. And, like, you being annoying on Twitter, it doesn't really bother [me]," Pokimane explained. The Twitch superstar continued to elaborate on her second reason why she wouldn't fight Corinna Kopf. "Also, I saw when she had Tweeted about me; the replies were so disgusting that I knew I wanted to stay as far away as possible from her and her followers. [It was] not my cup of tea," she added.

Pokimane went on to clarify her position on the Twitch gambling drama. "Honestly, my take wasn't even 'don't gamble.' It was just -- let's not promote gambling on a website where it is like 50-70% kids. Actually, I can't say that is the stats, for sure; but there are a lot of viewers on Twitch that should not be advertised to in that regard," Pokimane said.

Pokimane's reasoning for not wanting to get in the ring with Corinna Kopf is certainly understandable. And while several other internet stars like Logan and Jake Paul are seemingly eager to clash fists (perhaps because of prospective monetary incentive), it's reassuring to know that Pokimane won't spark a fight for just any unfounded reason.
