However, this didn’t satisfy all fans, especially those who missed one of their favorite maps in the popular battle royale. This led to fans digging around until a major leak spread that the Rebirth Island map from the original Warzone may be coming to Warzone 2.0 sometime this year.

New leaks have since emerged that hint at Rebirth Island returning in Season 4, along with a night time for Al Mazrah. The leaks also suggest that it could be heading to Warzone Mobile, instead.
Leaks suggest the return of Rebirth Island to Warzone 2.0
A recent leak suggests that Rebirth Island may be headed to Warzone 2. Populated to Reddit by user “iamDEVANS” on 5 December 2022, an image of the “new resurgence map” was originally shared to a Call of Duty Facebook group before being quickly removed, seemingly solidifying the leak’s legitimacy.
The new Warzone 2 resurgence map appears to be a smaller, albeit a reworked version of Rebirth Island. In the birds-eye-view image, several points of interest are illustrated: Shipwreck, Port, Industrial Ruins, Beach Club, Town Center, Power Plant, Residential, Water Treatment, Apartments, and Greenhouses. There is also a Castle situated at the center of the map.
In addition, the leaked map image also indicates supported game modes in Warzone 2: Resurgence (~50 players), 1x Ground War Area (24v24), and the newly released DMZ extraction shooter mode. Unfortunately, no other perspective of the leaked Warzone 2 resurgence map is available now; however, there is much speculation that the map could release sometime this year in 2023.
When will Rebirth Island come to Warzone 2.0?
Evidence for a possible 2023 release of Rebirth Island in Warzone 2 was backed up by prominent leaker @TheGhostOfHope, who tweeted back in September 2022 that Infinity Ward is planning to release a Resurgence map in Warzone 2 “sometime midway through 2023.” Additionally, they added that another new battle royale map will be coming in “late 2023.” Which may elude to the return of the Rebirth Island map later this year.

It’s worth noting that publisher Activision has not confirmed any of these details but has instead been seemingly eager to hush it all up. The original Facebook post was removed following a DMCA takedown request, suggesting that the leak might be legitimate and that the map may indeed be coming sometime this year. Relatedly, users on social media platforms like Twitter reportedly also had their accounts locked due to DMCA complaints.
