Activision recently revealed the roadmap for Season 5, revealing all of the content arriving throughout the season. One addition is that of the Vondel Champion’s Quest. For the unaware, the Champion’s Quest is how you activate a Nuke in Warzone 2. The rules will be essentially the same: you first need to win five battle royales in Vondel.

Then the Champion’s Quest will start. You will need to collect the different elements to activate the nuke. One key difference is that in Vondel, you cannot drop the elements ever. If you drop them, you need to recapture them to continue the quest. There are also a couple of new elements that will appear in Vondel as well.

In Warzone 2, the Champion’s Quest will ask you to collect a couple of different elements to build the nuke. With so many rewards offered for detonating a nuke, you will get some debuffs as you collect the different elements. There will be a few new elements that you will need to collect:

  • Gallium: Holding Gallium reveals all nearby team members who held it previously as if you were affected by a Snapshot Grenade.
  • Deuterium: This fatigues any Operator, which includes causing them to cough if they try sprinting.
  • Neptunium: This periodically electrocutes all nearby Operators as well as hay-wiring vehicles, with similar effects as the Shock Stick.

As you can see, these can be some pretty nasty debuffs and the new rule indicates that you cannot drop these elements until they are being used to make the nuke. It makes the Champion’s Quest that much harder but the rewards will be worth it for those who detonate the nuke. The Champion’s Quest in Vondel will be available for all players at the start of Season 5.
