Like any live service game right now, Call of Duty: Warzone is no stranger to pop culture collaborations. From celebrities and movie villains, to footballers and anime characters — Warzone has seen it all. Now, according to some recent leaks, another collaboration is on the way, this time with anime and manga series Hellsing.
Hellsing is a strange one. Following the story of a deadly and powerful vampire, Alucard, the Hellsing Organization seeks to destroy all manner of undead and supernatural creatures that threaten England. Known for its intense use of violence, Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate were both hugely popular anime series at release. But it’s been a while since we’ve seen anything new from the Hellsing franchise, so it’s even stranger that the IP could be getting a Warzone crossover.
In fact, as highlighted by X (Twitter) account @ModernWarzone, Alucard himself could be getting an Operator skin in the near future. Here’s what we know so far.
Update 27 September 2023: This article has been updated with the latest news and information regarding Alucard coming to Warzone.
Is Hellsing Alucard Coming To Call of Duty Warzone?
Yes, Activision has confirmed that Alucard will be coming as a purchaseable Operator skin as part of MW2 and Warzone Season 6. The skin will be made available as part of the Hellsing Bundle, expected to drop before the mid-season update.
The skin’s appearance was previously leaked by @ModernWarzone. The character will be added alongside other well-known pop culture figures, including:
- Skeletor – Masters of the Universe
- Ash Williams – Evil Dead
- Spawn – Image Comics
All of these characters, including Alucard, do make some sort of strange sense as Warzone Operators. These characters are all known for their bouts of violence, some moreso than others. Alucard even uses a gun as his primary weapon, despite being a deadly vampire.
When Does Hellsing Alucard Come To Call of Duty Warzone?
Alucard is expected to arrive as an Operator skin in Season 6 — which is expected to be the last season of Warzone in the Modern Warfare 2 game cycle. According to a post by CharlieIntel, Alucard is expected to arrive on October 3.
This wouldn’t be the first time Call of Duty has teamed up with an anime franchise. In the past, the series brought Attack on Titan to Warzone with themed skins for specific Operators and the appearance of the Armored Titan.
