While Warzone 2.0 has been a huge success for Activision, many fans do miss some aspects of the original Warzone title. Namely, fans want to see the return of a Resurgence map, and thanks to recent rumors, it appears as though they may be getting what they wish for. 

So in this article, we'll take a quick look at the possible release date (speculation) for a Resurgence map in Warzone 2.0 based on recent rumors. And give you a better understanding of what to expect regarding a favorite map from the original Warzone.

Warzone 2 - Resurgence Map Release Date Speculation & Leaks

Based on recent rumors and speculation, many suspects that a Resurgence map will be coming to Warzone 2.0 on the 2nd of February 2023, once the second season begins. The main reason many believe it will be coming once the new season starts, or perhaps as a mid-season surprise, is due to the leaks that surfaced last year in 2022.

The evidence behind this comes from two sources, a leak on Reddit, and a tweet from a well-known leaker on Twitter. The latter is a reliable Call of Duty latter and has been right about many releases in the past, though we'll still have to see about this one. 

Warzone 2 - Resurgence Map Leaks

The first piece of evidence fans had to expect this map was a recently removed Reddit post by user "iamDEVANS" who supposedly found a screenshot of the map. 

It appeared to be a scaled-down, though reworked, version of Rebirth Island. Several points of interest are depicted in the birds-eye view image: Shipwreck, Port, Industrial Ruins, Beach Club, Town Center, Power Plant, Residential, Water Treatment, Apartments, and Greenhouses are all part of the landscape. And the center of the map also featured a Castle.

What makes this more intriguing is that this post was taken down extremely via a DMCA claim, which could point to it being legitimate and something the developers wanted to keep hidden. The next source comes from the prominent leaker, @TheGhostOfHope on Twitter.

They posted a Tweet last year that stated, "Infinity Ward [are] planning to release a Resurgence style map sometime midway through 2023. Another new Battle Royale map coming in late 2023." This "new battle royale map" has also been speculated to be the Rebirth Island map from the OG Warzone, and though this should all be taken with a grain of salt until we get official reports from the developers at Activision, the evidence does seem worth considering. 

For now, we suggest taking these leaks with a grain of salt and waiting on official and credible information from Activision themselves. Though either way, it appears that Season 2 of Warzone 2.0 will be a release to look forward to.
