Dr Disrespect Reveals Why Activision Canceled His Call Of Duty Partnership

YouTube streamer and content creator Herschel "Dr Disrespect" Beahm has long supported Activision’s Call of Duty franchise and even helped create most of the maps for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. So, there’s no doubting Dr Disrespect’s love for the franchise, but in recent news, the company pulled the rug out from under him.

On 14th September 2022, during Dr Disrespect’s YouTube livestream, he addressed why Activision canceled his Call of Duty partnership. The two-time champ explained that the company canceled the partnership because they didn’t like what he had to say about the game, despite trash talking being a common ritual throughout the franchise.

Since the franchise's inception, trash talking has been Call of Duty’s defining factor. If you loaded up the game and played multiplayer modes, you were bound to get chewed out through chat or voice communications.

It’s just a part of the game’s competitive spirit, and many can agree, albeit somewhat toxic, that what makes Call of Duty a great franchise.

During the YouTube livestream, Dr Disrespect said that it was because of his tenacious, honest nature that Activision decided to cancel his Call of Duty partnership. The content creator isn’t one to keep quiet; when he sees a problem, he speaks his mind clearly and loudly.

He stated that Activision didn’t like him trash-talking the game, despite most of his arguments being about the franchise’s poor state and development. In a brief rant, Dr Disrespect had this to say:

“This is according to them, ‘Doc talks too much trash about Call of Duty.’ And it makes me think, I mean how many people have talked trash about Call of Duty? How many times have I complimented the game? How long have I been working with the franchise, for years and years?”

Dr Disrespect stated his partnership was canceled by Activision because "he talks so much sh*t." (Picture: Activision)

Addressing the absurdity of the partnership cancelation, Dr Disrespect added, “everyone knows ‘CoD’ spelled backward is Doc, right? It’s in the blood. They straight up said, the reason why [Dr Disrespect had his Call of Duty partnership called by Activision] is because I talk so much sh*t. Take a look around [Activision]; a bunch of phones, man.”

Some fans might think there might be another underlying reason Activision canceled the two-time champ’s partnership.

Accordingly, they claim it's because Dr Disrespect is leading the development of DEADROP, the world's first vertical extraction shooter, which he dubs better than Call of Duty. But nothing’s been made certain for sure.

All Dr Disrespect revealed was that he was one of the few non-sell-outs to “love” the franchise and “say it how it is” whenever the game was doing terrific or terrible.

Because of his honest opinion, Activision has deemed his “trash talk” a noteworthy offense to cancel his partnership despite the years of support for the franchise.
