How To Upgrade Weapons In Fire Emblem Engage

Here is everything you need to know about how to upgrade equipment in Fire Emblem Engage!
How To Upgrade Weapons In Fire Emblem Engage

There are a ton of weapons for players to collect in Fire Emblem Engage. However, it will soon become obvious that base weapons don't pack much of a punch against enemies in later stages. This is why it is crucial to upgrade your equipment in Fire Emblem Engage in order to make it stronger. Upgrading equipment in Fire Emblem Engage is known as "Refinement." It is recommended to upgrade the equipment you already have instead of using newer equipment at a base level.

Like in most Fire Emblem games, the same holds true for characters. Vander is acquired at the start of the game at an Advanced Class but quickly falls off because of this (despite being incredibly powerful in the early game). So, let's find out how to upgrade equipment in Fire Emblem Engage.

To upgrade equipment in Fire Emblem Engage, players will need to unlock the Smithy and then pay a certain amount of materials and currency to refind their weapon. The Smithy in Fire Emblem Engage is unlocked at the start of Chapter 6 and can be reached at any time while in the Somniel.

When talking to the Smithy, the player will be presented with two options. These are either refining your weapon or engraving your weapon. Engraving a weapon involves bonding it with a specific Emblem in order to increase its stats depending on the Emblem chosen. However, for a direct upgrade to the weapon itself, regardless of the Emblem it is bonded with, you want to choose "Refinement."

Players will then have to pay the Smithy an amount of currency and materials in order to upgrade the weapon. The materials required can range from Iron, Steel, or Silver, depending on the level of upgrade you wish to perform. These materials can generally be found in certain quests and are often given as mission rewards. Additionally, it is possible to trade with the Smithy bulk amounts of lower-rarity materials (like Iron) in order to obtain small amounts of rarer items (like Silver).

While it is always a great idea to upgrade your equipment whenever possible, it is recommended to save upgrades for more powerful weapons. While a base weapon that has been upgraded will be far stronger than a legendary weapon that has no upgrades, a legendary weapon that has also been upgraded will be twice as strong!

And that's everything you need to know about upgrading equipment in Fire Emblem Engage.
