Blizzard Entertainment announced the next expansion for World of Warcraft (WoW), Dragonflight, in a gorgeous cinematic trailer on 19th April 2022. The expansion features an abundance of dragons, scenic views, Dragon race and class, mounts, professions, and more.
Popular Twitch and MMO streamer, Asmongold was quite impressed with what Blizzard offers in the Dragonflight expansion and has made his comments public. The WoW community doesn’t appear to be thrilled, as the Twitch streamer explained why this is the case.
WoW players don’t want to be “fooled around” with Dragonflight expansion
Asmongold was granted a huge opportunity to interview World of Warcraft Game Director Ion Hazzikostas on 28th April 2022 live on Twitch. Not only did they discuss the upcoming expansion, Dragonflight, additionally they talked about other topics about the popular MMO title.

The upcoming expansion will welcome players to a new location, the Dragon Isles, in which they’ll explore the wonders and the secrets that remain here. While the various trailers highlighted the location and content arriving in the expansion, his community noticed that the trailers didn’t garner as many views compared to previous expansions.
- Twitch to consider changing revenue split for larger streamers
- Twitch Friends List feature to be removed from the platform
- World of Warcraft Dragonflight - Dragonriding Gameplay, Skills, and Unlocks
- World of Warcraft Dragonflight - Talent Changes and Updates
The Twitch streamer had noted this and offered his thoughts as to why this may be occurring. According to Asmongold, he believes that the community has grown tired of Blizzard and being “fooled around”.
“There are two videos on the World of Warcraft channel. There’s one video that has like two million and another video that has two million. But it is still certainly less than Battle for Azeroth,” Asmongold stated.
He later elaborated on why the Dragonflight trailers have received fewer views stating: “I think the truth is that after two expansions, people are tired of getting fooled. People are tired of getting f**ked around, goofed around, annoyed by the same sh*t every time.”
“I think a lot of these guys, they’re like listen, fool me once, fool me twice, I’m tired of getting f**king fooled. So, a lot of people are just kind of waiting to see what’s going to happen. I think Dragonflight is an expansion where Blizzard is going to have to earn back their audience,” he concluded.
This isn’t the first time the Twitch streamer has claimed that Blizzard will need to work hard to regain the faith and trust of the community. In a separate video he uploaded to his YouTube channel on 22nd April 2022, he explained that the confusion and disapproval towards the Dragonflight expansion are warranted; however, following Battle for Azeroth, Shadowlands and Legion, Blizzard will need to “earn back people’s trust”.
He later revealed that overall fulfilment and making players invested in the game is what Blizzard must do to earn their trust once again and win them over in no time. Nevertheless, the Twitch streamer has been impressed with what he’s seen thus far; however, it’s only a matter of time before we know if it will be a hit with the community.
