Twitch Star xQc Opens Up About Adept Breakup And Shitcamp Drama

It’s been a rollercoaster of controversy for Félix “xQc” Lengyel after he declined to participate in the Twitch Shitcamp 2022 event a few weeks ago. Since then, xQc has been criticized by fellow streamers QTCinderella, Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker, Chance “Sodapoppin” Morris, and more for canceling last minute.

On 15th September 2022, xQc addressed the controversy during a Twitch live stream, discussing the reasons that provoked him not to participate in the Shitcamp 2022 activities. He revealed his breakup with now-ex-girlfriend Adept was a major reason for not attending.

It all started when xQc revealed he wouldn’t be attending QTCinderella’s Shitcamp event at the last minute, despite weeks of preparation and even inviting the creator long beforehand. QTCinderella found it extremely disrespectful, and many others too.

At this point, most of the community was against xQc for bailing at short notice for seemingly absurd reasons, one being that he decided not to go supposedly because Sodapoppin wasn’t going to be there.

On 15th September 2022, the Twitch streamer revealed that he was allegedly torn between decisions and “cornered” into making a choice that cost him his relationship and a majority of public support.

He discussed the “pressure” put on him between deciding between his “family” and his girlfriend, which led him to break up with Adept and not attend Shitcamp because of turmoil.

In the stream, xQc said, “At home was really odd because I was moving and whatever. I love my brother; I love my family. But he and his girlfriend and me and Sammy [Adept], we just couldn’t be all at once, in one place."

"We just couldn’t; it wasn’t possible. There was friction when I was at my brother’s house, and three was friction when we all got here. And it was just very odd,” the Twitch star added.

xQc continued, “And then, it was like we were all splitting apart. My brother was pretty much kicked out, kind of just naturally; he had to move his stuff over here."

"Then, it wasn’t working out with Sammy because it was like a brawl. It was just disastrous; it was like chaos. My family wasn’t nice either, in certain parts. [...] I felt like I had to make a choice.”

xQc explained that his family and girlfriend didn’t get along. He went on to detail how there was a lot of “friction” when they lived together or were near each other.

The streamer said he was allegedly “cornered into choosing family or Sammy.” And he stated that he chose “family” over his girlfriend. xQc admitted the situation was his fault for letting it get out of hand.

He added that “nobody’s wrong” amid all the drama between him and his family and that it was “natural life stuff” and “differences that weren’t repairable” that caused the breakup. xQc stated that if he went to Shitcamp with Adept, it would’ve been “weird.”

And Adept felt like if xQc leaked their breakup, the community would cause trouble and go against her. So, xQc “tried to protect” Adept and tanked “some hatred” to avoid the nuisance of going through the controversy about their relationship by simply declining to attend Shitcamp 2022.

However, because the heat of the controversy supposedly became too hot for xQc to handle, it had detrimental effects on his career and life, presumably prompting him to explain his side of the story.

xQc later apologized to Adept and others for addressing the breakup because he didn’t want to disclose information that might have caused problems for his ex-girlfriend.

He acknowledged that he could’ve solved the problem better. xQc said, “I should’ve [gone] and played it out and just played the part; just faked it. I think that would’ve been the best way to do it."

"But everyone knows around me that I have a hard time doing that. I’ve never been good at it. And everyone knows that I’m not good at faking things and keeping it private," xQc added.

Despite all the trouble, xQc also mentioned that he didn’t want to pretend forever and felt that his decision and current path amid the controversy wasn’t the greatest but necessary.

Fans feel conflicted knowing xQc has broken up with Adept. However, others acknowledge that his actions of allegedly taking away Adept's privacy weren't great and that she's now feeling the heat online for something that she tried to avoid.

For now, it's uncertain whether or not the future will look bright for xQc. What is sure is that both parties desperately want to move past the drama and xQc feels apologetic for going against his word to Adept.
