Warzone The Haunting Event 2023: Start Date, Time, Halloween Skins, Challenges, And More

Warzone's Halloween event, The Haunting, is set to return for 2023. Here's what we know about the event so far.

October marks the month of all things spooky for Call of Duty. Traditionally, across both Warzone and the mainline game, Halloween events begin shaping up around this time in ther form of The Haunting. This popular event first made its waves back in 2020 and has since then been a staple of Warzone’s seasonal LTMs.

Previously, Activision partnered up with known horror franchises, such as Scream, to bring a taste of slasher-horror to the Battle Royale. The event saw Ghostface (and Donnie Darko’s Frank the Rabbit) arrive as limited-time bundles, purchasable through the in-game store. Maps also got a bit of a rework, with classic Black Ops map Nuketown getting adorned with creepy decorations.

Now, as we move closer to October 2023, fans are ready to learn just what Activision has in store for Warzone and Modern Warfare 2. Below, we’ll go over everything we know about the event so far, including skins, weapons camos, dates, and more.

Update 16 October, 2023: This page has been updated with the latest news regarding the Warzone 2023 Halloween event.

Warzone Halloween 2023: The Haunting Game Modes Revealed

According to a recent Call of Duty blog, players wil be able to take part in a number of Halloween game modes across The Haunting in both Warzone and MW2.

The Haunting: Operation Nightmare

Operation Nightmare will take place on Al Mazrah. Here, eldritch anomalies will spawn across the map and playuers will be faced with a horde of monsters to eliminate and work their way through a Bounty board.

The Haunting: Vondead

As the name implies, Vondead will take place on Vondel where a sorceress has begun a demonic incantation that has released a zombie outbreak. Players will be heading to the Graveyard of the Witch to infiltrate and find the source of the summoning activity. Be warned as Vondel’s POIs are now swarming with undead, and a deadly enemy known as “The Butcher” stalks the underworld.

This LTM will be taking place across both Al Mazrah and Vondel, bringing back elements of The Haunting from years gone by. During a match of Zombie Royale, any Operators slain by others won’t wind up in the Gulag, but will instead be cursed to return to the fight as an undead zombie.

The Haunting: Vondead Lockdown

Another LTM, this time taking place on Vondel in a spookier adaptation of popular mode Lockdown. This objective-based mode sees players bring in custom loadouts to capture and hold zones around the map, only this time things are a bit more unsettling.
